where is the best place to buy 2nd hand
ls1 gen 3 motor from and roughly what do they go for.

Dont know about the 2nd hand market but you can get brand new crate engines for anywhere between 5-6g even cheaper if you look hard enough

You can get 2nd hand ls1 motors for around $2k, sometimes cheaper. Occasionally members have them for sale on here.

Keep an eye out at the wreckers, have seen a few go for 2500-3000 with loom and autos.
Maybe check with a few performance joints too, if they have done an engine changeover u might get a good deal.
