I am trying to decide between a Procharger kit and a Vortech V2 SQ Both intercooled.

I understand that the Procharger will produce more power at a lower boost due to the thing producing more CFM.

I have read that some of them can leak oil.

Another concern is noise. I'm not worried when i'm on the gas but want the car to be quite on idle.

People have reported that some Prochargers are noise and some ar not.

Does anyone have any experience on this subject ?

Cheers

Have a look through Tonners posts. He has a ProCharger on his tonner.

Also ran mid 10s and ran up 420rwkw (from memory) at the LS1 Nationals :yahoo:

There are no downsides to fitting a procharger/s.

i have tuned a couple of pro charger setups with the smaller one making around 410rwhp and the larger one making 525rwhp both on stock motors with basic exhaust setups, they are not a bad thing but are a more expansive than the other setups

downside is like every other supercharger its still driven by a vulnerable belt :)

The belt is no problem whatsoever these days with the 8 rib & ati tensioner, for up to 15 lb boost so far.
some prochargers especially the f series leak a little mist of oil, some leak at both seals internal and external, but they do repair them quickly,
The D1sc are fairly quiet, its a bit of 'luck of the draw' with the F1 noise levels.

Im happy & Power torque know the tricks to these.
