Hi Guys,
I have just moved into an appartment with the GF and our carpark is rediculously difficult to get into. So it looks like i might have to trade in the green machine and get a smaller car for a while.
Have considered the obvious WRX but was also want to look at any other/better options.
So has anyone got any good ideas for a small(ish) car that isn't crap.
Looking to trade my car plus maybe $5k.
Cheers,
Steve

I don't mind the 2 door astras myself, they look pretty sporty and apparently go ok for what they are. The SRi would probably be my choice, don't know if that falls in your budget or not though.

Thanks for the replied guys. I dont mind the idea of a 200SX. My boss has a 200 that does a 13.6 quarter mile so i should be able to at least match my current car (14.01). Only concern with these is that every one i see seems to have a combination of high k's and cannon sized exhausts.
As for the Astras i'm not such a fan of FWD. But could possibly consider it if it felt quick enough.

What do you want from the car? You said small, but do you
want something that goes hard, and how hard must it go?
Do you want practical or do you not care about that?
Could have sold you a nice Forester GT with Leather and
sunroof 4 weeks ago.

So maybe mid to high 20's is your budget.
Have you looked through Redbook for the VY, to get an idea of just how much you can expect to play with? Might make the answers a bit more realistic.

as black has said, what do you want from the car?
me personally being 36 now im used to rwd ( im from the uk ) but most now are only used to fwd nowdays and i surpsoe its getting this way over here now. BUT it i was looking for a small car which was half quick and had good handling then i woulkd go for the ford fiesta ( not sure what model its called over here but in the uk its called a ST ) it has a 2 litre engine which its quite good for its size and even though its fwd it will out handle most of the commy's on here, so even though they will have you off the line it would get that back on the bends and proberly put a better time in round a track.
but hey thats me

Really depends on what you want out of a car. For the price range you are talking about (around $30k?) I would consider the following:
Performance -
Nissan S15 200SX
Mitsubushi Lancer EVO 6 TME
Subaru WRX/ STI
Nissan Skyline R34 Gt turbo
Hot hatches -
VW Golf GTI
Astra SRi turbo
Ford Focus ST170
Mini Cooper
