Been doing a bit of research on the web and on the site here about getting seats retrimmed in leather, costs, options etc.
I've noticed quite a few posts from some of you guys extolling the virtues of Blackmans in Melbourne.:deal:
I was hoping someone who has had some work done by them would be good enough to post some pics of the completed article or articles. My understanding is they do some great work at a great price so I'd like to get some first hand impressions and pictures from those in the know.
Thanks guys!
Anybody had any work done?:bawl:

Sweeeeet...
I got a reply to my query from their website: $1650 to supply a full set of leather for a retrim (not including installation obviously)...pretty impressive...

It would definately be interesting to see how close they can come to the factory look.

Check out my ride in the my ride section. I got charged $1600 for my whole interior. I think the seats were $500 each. Which was done in red leather. And that was re-bolstered aswell. It was done in Syd.

I was looking at specifically Blackmans in Moorabin in Victoria, thesee are the guys others have been raving about, so I'm interested in their work.
Include a link to the thread you are referring to and I'll have a look.

Chad, that's exactly what I was looking for champ! I scanned your other threads but got no clear pics of the seats, they look gold mate. I take it you have to have the HSV seats originally to get covered like that? By that I mean you can't have ordinary Statesman seats and ask for trim for a Senator without paying for the Coulson foams, stuff like that?

Ill try to get some of my seats tomorrow , they were done in late 01 pre delivery in Melb . Black with red inserts & same with door trims . The only problem i've had is the drivers insert on the front curve has cracked & started doing so after about 3 yrs & they have never replied to any of my emails concerning the problem & they are now out of warranty . But otherwise they are & have been faultless .

Any competant trimmer could do the coulson thing.
They just "Stuff" the seats to suit. The non couldson foam 1's seems to look a little full to me as they don't have the shape of the foam.
My coulsons have a bar welded to the lower seat subframe..

This could easily be duplicated. The "Ears" on the headrest would be the fun part. I have seen this done well and badly. Ask you trimmer and see what he says. They are used to restoring cars where no foams are avail....
Coulsons are rare and EXE... I think just the foams are like a grand.
Foams will fit on standard backrest frame; mine are from a caprice to get full 8 way elec. You don't have to put the bar there but it would give more support. The base is from the coulson's and then the caprice electrics for the lower seat frame. MMMM Mix n match... Sometimes holden do it so we can have fun with mods.
Maybe get the headrest foams and have the trimmer mod the seat foams. they will be able to advise the best route.
cheers
Chad
