i was talking to a mate today and got told that there are 2 type of 6 spd manual boxs for the ls1/ls2 motors the t56 and another 1 can't remember the name has anyone heard of this ????

Three in total.
Wide ratio MM6 from VT-VY and most VZ.
VZ's using the M12 close ratio box were Monaro and HSV. Not sure which version L76 VZ versions used.
M10 close ratio used in VE.
