Is there any way that a car can be insured for this sort of thing, as this is the only thing that would stop me doing it, just too costly to crash a nice modified SS without insurance. How risky is the track in terms of run off etc?

I reckon you would be hard pressed to find insurance for a day like this. Qld raceway is pretty open with great run off areas so you would be Ok. Its the other cars around you that you have no control over.

Also if you do run into a sand trap keep it straight cause if you cornered hard in a trap you could roll it.

I wouldnt have any issues going on a day like this at Qld raceway, its fairly safe.

Shannons do offer some form of track insurance but I have never read the policy document to know the details.

As far as the day goes, we only allow overtaking on the straights and keep the numbers on the track low. I have never seen a car to car incident.

If you come out with a sensible attitude with nothing to prove you will have a great day. All the guys that come out to my track day are very approachable and get on well.
