Hi Guys

I've been reading up on the police mode for VY Models and thinking of getting the mod done next week when the Monaro is in for a service.

Just a couple of questions which I haven't been able to find answers to after searching through the other posts.

And advance thanks for the heads up about the Speed Alert.

1. What does the display look like on a VY? I assume it is a big central display showing the speedo, if so what it is in the side displays?

2. Does it affect the Trip Computer A and B Functions - I currently have these enabled and trip B displays with the overspeed alert, Will I still have access to that?

3. Does anyone have any pics of the display in a VY?

4. It was briefly mentioned in one of the other threads that in VY this disables the seatbelt alert - Anyone with a VY experienced this?

If any one could answer the above it would be great, like to know what I'm getting into before I go ahead.

Thanks

There are no big drama's with getting this done. A tip is to set your spped alert/alarm to max chickens as I think once the police mode is activated you can't change the overspeed alarm.

You will still get the usual dash displays and modes I think. The onlyreal difference is the speed is displayed whilst driving.

Not sure if it is the same as mine (being a series II)

Yes you get the big display in the center :)
You lose the ability to set your overspeed limits (so set high)
Whilst the speed is displaying you have nothing in the left and right smaller displays..
All other functions work as normal :)

Always defaults to Speed display when ever you start.

Can set trap speeds to show your mates how fast you were going...

Chad,

How do you program the instrument cluster to display trap speeds?

Dave.

Basically it allows you to have a large digital speedo readout in your center dash cluster.

From what i read you would take it to the dealership and ask them to enable the Police mode and it takes about 5mins apparently. As for the cost i am unsure, i think it would be free if you had it done with a service.

Never mind ... I worked it out. :bravo:

Once the digital speedo is activated you can access trap speed by pressing mode with the digital speedo displayed.

Yes it can be activated on a VT/VX/VU as well.

Correct that is why your has it.

EDIT: To my above post ... it isn't mode you push when activating the TRAP speed function ... it's the SET button. :banghead:
