Hey all,

I'm not a frequent poster on the forums but I am browsing through them every day. Well I finally have something to post so here's some pics of a bingle that I had yesterday morning.

and the full car.

Basically I was going straight and the other car was turning right onto the street I was travelling on but going the opposite direction. He failed to give way and we collected each other. No one was hurt, his car has front end damage and I was only doing about 20 or 30 when we hit. I couldn't have met a nicer bloke to have an accident with. After the police left we just sat round and had a good yarn while waiting for the tow trucks. Even the police thought it was odd that we were both smiling and laughing.

Car can't be looked at till the 25th of June, so looks like I am going to have to reaquent myself with public transport.

If anything, that door had a few dings in it from carparks, so I'll be getting all that fixed and the car's gonna look smick afterwards :)

Thats a great attitude to have towards the whole situation. Good thing you were able to get your speed down that much in time, probably saved ya from much worse damage.

Keep us posted

That's sucks, it always hurts when cars get damaged (esp your favourite ones). At least no one was hurt :)

25th of June is still a while away....I could photochop it out if you like:stick:

Thats a good attitude to have, there is no real point getting up in arms over it all, especially if ya know your not at fault, no one was hurt and that is what really matters, metal can be beat out and paint re-sprayed.......Of course ya gonna be a litle upset over it, but no point going off tap at the at fault driver etc, just gonna get them off side...because he is probably feeling pritty bad about causeing it....

Accidents are just a pain in the rear. It does make things alot easier and more manangeable when the other party is also remains calm. Its good to hear that there are still ppl out there that can accept the fact it was there fault and act accordingly.
Hope the repairs go smoothly.

Cheers for the messages fellas.

I hadn't thought of putting a HSV front end on, what would it look like if I did? Does anybody have any pics they could share?

I'm in contact with the guy on email sharing jokes and all so there definately isn't any hard feelings. The guy's girlfriend showed up at the accident and they even offered to give me a lift to work which I thought was awesome. I was litrally a 2min walk from work so I declined.

When I bought the ute it had a little ding in the tail gate, and a few scratches on the rear so I thought I might see how much that will cost me to get fixed as well while its in the shop.

Got another question though, I recently put slotted rotors on the front and I hadn't got around to telling the insurance company. Do you think they'll just replace the slotted one? or will they put normal ones on? Might give the panel beaters a call and find out.

And if the car's back on the road, I was looking at going to the dyno day at Gentech on the 14th, hopefully get myself validated if people are there :)

You need to purchase some HSV lights so the HSV bar can fit on the VX but unless you take it to your own panel beater the insurance company want let you put on the HSV front bar instead as well if you know the panel beater he might be able to claim all the other scratches ion insuranse with the brakes i am not sure but probably the same as above maybe buy the panel beater a case of beer and he will sought you out

Don't know if it is but was wondering just incase. You can't see it in the photo but that wheel is pushed back about 5-10 cm towards the door.

if it is and they are not noted then the insurance will only supply factory one or they might let you make up the difference in cash and get the same ones...or if you lucky the panel beater will put the slotted ones and the insurance will just pay it.
