Ummm are we missing something here. It just looks like any other TT Kit really, whats so special about this prototype that you had to get "spy shots" :hmmm:

Unless Im mistaken it looks like a water to air intercooler. Thats a change to the usual air to air system.

power outputs are still unknown, as the dyno shuts down due to exceeding torque limits by 2100rpm on 15psi, this is also dynod in 4th gear with lockup convertor on. So we tryed it at 3000rpm@15psi, but it did the same thing with only 35% throttle. Aiming for 22 psi
a new diff is going in with a lower ratio, to get the rear wheel torque down, ill let u know, what power it makes should be somewhere over the 600rwkw's.
Has anyone got a good 3.07 ratio diff going cheap anyone.

How is the radiator going to work when its totally blocked off?

there aint any dramas so far for cooling, as the grill only allows a small amount of air flow, all the cooling is done through the intercooler, as this is the main airflow for the cooling system anyway.

Nice setup. Looks neat.
That photo looks like an OTR straight from the intercooler. Is that right?
Did you have to do any cutting of the car?
I have some 3.07's lying around somewhere. PM me to discuss cheap price.

I may have in a few weeks when i'm back in Oz ( I think it's 3.07 - 2001 vx ss 2 auto etc my cousin said it'd be 3.07 so???) i've got 53k on the clock with it and i'm puttin in 3.9's or 4.11's within the month. If it looks the goods when it comes out (have to see what prognosis and condition my diff man gives it) it may be up for sale. If your still lookin in around 2-3 weeks depending on when i can get it done.... then pm me.
cheers matt

the only cutting i had to do to the car was 2 slight cutouts, to get the pipes under the headlights, thats all nothing else.
yes it does connect to the intercooler top tank assembly, but all easily unboltable if u need to remove it for any reason. and i didnt have to relocate battery.

i have 3.9's at the moment, and am staying 3.9's, so basically i just want to change diff assembly only for dyno to get a accurate reading.

Matt,
sorry champ way to long was just after a diff assembly i can through in for a day, i have approx 20 sets on 3.07's from stockies, but i didnt want to go and rebuild another diff just for the dyno.
and Piston1, considering uve released pics (which im not to worried about) can i have ur diff.......

No worries.:) Do you know anyone who may have a Converter for sale? Around 3200rpm? New or Used. I'd prefer new though. I need one within the next few weeks.
Also the Mods youv'e done are fantastic, I wish i had gone that way to start with but it'd cost me too much to go back and start again with my car. Looks like a winner for my next project though.

So when do I get ride dude or a drive:D
highly doubt it champ, only maybe if i can empty the entire NOS bottle when u have brand new tyres.......
i was just looking through some logs from all the dyno work, this thing almost activates quicker than the NOS kit, it takes 0.253 of a second @2000 rpm, to hit 11 psi, and 0.389 @2100rpm, to reach 15psi.
The responce time is awesome, what a difference using the Roller Bearing Garrett Turbo's, and less than half the piping.

I'll settle for just a ride then! I still haven't tried the NOS yet myself!

Looks like a great setup Brad, glad you got rid of the belt driven snail and put 2 hair dryers in finally not that they are going to help you much :stick:
do you think it will be ready for the next cruise????? would be good to see it out there.
on a side note mate how did you get on with your missing torrana?????

I remember seeing your car with the blower 6 months ago on an ls1 cruise and thought that was nuts enough.. can't wait to see this thing fly past me...sideways

for sure will be definately out there, its just that i want a accurate dyno graph, with there is no speculation of any wheel spin, hence using the hub dyno once again.........
what do u mean, even with a belt snapping snail, and smoking the tyres next to u, u still had no chance, its called straight line drifting, no poping clutches to go sideways...:)
as for the torana, ive got to much to loose, so i played it smart, and am taking him to court. The latest word thou, he was going to reimburse me money from it, but how do u set a price on a mint torana body.
will we see u out there on the cruise.

after driving it for a while now, im still very warry of its nature, its actually more lethal than the blower on 16psi pulley and that produced 425rwkw@4300rpm on 13psi boost.

Are you still running a stock engine, and if it is a built engine, what mods have you done ?
Any plans to sell this kit to the public, or is it just for your own amusement ?
Looks pretty tough though

Engine isnt stock at all, just forged, lower compression, basically built for strength.
At this very stage, i can not comment on the sale of the kit, as ive payed my ls1 forum premium sponsor, and the banner is in construction, so yes it will go into production, Release date TBA.
Also ive been working with a independant engineer on this design for ADR, as theres more to it than emissions, had to pass % of heat ratio in the engine bay, which others dont get close to specifications.

Good luck with the project, nothing like a bit of competition out there to spice things up for the consumer !

Ok, well ive finally got around to do just a little more to the car over the last week, installed a set of 3.07 diff gears just for the dyno, and got underway on the dyno.
As this is a torque monster the dyno ive been using just plain cant hold it.
Dyno tuning was carried out in 3rd gear with lockup convertor on, attempted in 4th gear but the hub speed exceeded the dyno specifications. So 3rd gear had to be used.
The results were 401rwkw/870 NM Torque@10 PSI, 440rwkw/1110 NM @12.5 PSI, Whilst i was on the dyno i decided to adjust the boost controller and dial in 16PSI with 495rwkw/1343NM torque, and shut the dyno down once again. The torque figures are actual engine torque figures, not rear wheel figures.
So this leaves only one option as i want a highly accurate figure where there is no tyre slippage. The decision is engine out, and and on a engine dyno is the only way.
When i get around to it, ill get a range of graphs printed of, and post them up for all to see.

I believe those figures are from a hub dyno.

John,
yes pleased with the results, very happy with the design.
Ive been using a dynapack hub dyno, as im only intersted in accuracy.

Unfortunately if my dyno was here i wouldnt have to worry about it, i would get a accurate reading.
