Hey there
i have a 05 monaro, and for some reason there is a random 'thud' noise in my right rear end. It happens while turning to the right, especially a hard right, or going down driveways onto the road, it occurs about 25% of the time.
Its been to holden 3 x and pedders, and they have done this and that, but haven't found anything significant, and the noise keeps happening.
Has this happened to anyone - if so what could cause this
Cheers

It's not the diff is it? Or maybe your spare wheel is loose in the boot????

Sounds like the diff "locking" to me. If it gets too annoying try some diff additive, but be aware, this may reduce the effectiveness of your lsd.

Cool,
Will try some diff additive.
Holden said they put some ls1 oil in the diff, but that didnt fix the problem.
Is it different to the diff additive?

just a thought - I could be wrong here but my VT used to make a clunking noise when I first got it, usually going over speed humps at tight angles (or macca's drive thru).
changed the rear discs and the noise went away, suspect the hand brake might have been out of adjustment and the cable would stretch a bit because the rear wheels were at unusual angles. this would cause the hand brake to grab
anyway just a thought

drive shaft replace -- well they called it a half shaft. not sure if that involves cv joints, but finally problem fixed!!
