Hey guys,
I was just wondering where exactly the SV models fit into, what are their differences from a S and SS. Are they just cheap versions of them (exec interior and bodykit)?
Thanks,
Luke.

yeah there your basic commodores (executive) with bigger wheels a wing
The SS and S have a front and rear body kit and sideskirts and have more features with interior than the SV

Actually the SV6 took over the S pack in VZ
and the SV8 started in VY as an exec V8 replacement - they no longer make the SV8

The VZ SV6/SV8 was the best of the SVs imo as they got a full SS bodykit as opposed to just a wing.
They dont get the SS interior and while they do get alloy mags they are smaller than the SS.
The seats in my SV8 feel fine and look the part being leather :D
The only other difference is the headlights and badging.
And yeah the new SV8 is the SS and the new SS is the SSV if that makes sense hahaha

Which model? VY, or VZ as there are some significant differences.

Sort of. Holden changed their whole range's positioning.
This tends to be the opinion of the SSV owners looking down on those below...

If you can afford a bit extra for the VZ its well worth it.

I had a VY I SV8 (with HBD body kit). It was a good car, though the VZ SS I could then afford to step up to was even better. If you do a search you will find a lot of threads in which the differences are explained. Unfortunately pinning it down is a pain given the search only accepts words of four characters or more so you can't just search on SV8 and SS. :flipoff:
Try a combination like projectors, seats, wheels, side skirts or something as they were some of the major differences in the VY SV8 and SS. Absolutely no difference in running gear or suspension.

Holden didn't make a VY SV6, but as started before the VY S is the same 'level' of Commodore as the VZ SV6.
