The waranty on my Calais has come to an end and wondering if any one could tell me how to get rid of the service mesage that pops up .

It's in the car's user handbook - you know, that thing in the glovebox that takes up valueable CD storage space :D

buddy turn the ignition off hold down the 2 arrows until you hear a beep then press the mode button till it beeps then hold down the arrow again and that should reset the service reminder.
