We had a productive day with VE's. A GTS and 2 SS's. A big that you to Big Rob for his input into Curtis's cold air pickup. With the front bar off, he fabricated a nice air scoop to fit in behind and direct cool air up onto the pod air filter. With the bar back on and back on the street, we saw 10-15 degress less in our IAT's whilst logging. This engine is untuned and the decrease in IAT meant that little to no timing retard was recorded. Thanks again Curtis for your patience and Rob for a job well done. Cheers Chev

Had the GTS on Chevs dyno yesterday. First time on since the 3" Xforce catback and the CAI growler. Stock it was 228rwkw and afterwards went to best run of 241.6rwkw. We did quite a few runs , saw a 239.9 and a few 238`s . We were going to some tests with and without the growler ,but a few of the runs were up and down, so the exercise would have been futile. The VE with the auto have shown a lot of different rwkw figures and a lot depends on how it hooks up. We had a good day and learnt that there is plenty of gains to be had. Thanks to Gary for his help and it was good to catch up with Rob and Curtis............Cheers John:)

Well JK I am very happy with it. I would say medium to loud. It is relatively mild on idle. I was very surprised with the quality of the system, very good in my opinion. Chev did take some photos if he wants to post them up. One thing that I should mention is there is slight drone as it is an auto. Nothing over the top, but it is there and you can drive through it. Curtis took it for a spin and his opinion is welcomed(good or bad).......Cheers John:)

#%$@'n AWSOME! and thanks again for the opportunity to take it for a spin John. I was really impressed with the sports mode shifting, would be so much fun at a track day! I reckon you should take it to calder in a few weeks! ;)

The quality of that X-Force system is second to none, but its a completely different sound to mine.

Hi fellas
what brand of CAI is that, it really seems to hang low - just about on the ground from the picture - I would be shitting myself re sucking up water from any decent sized puddle, is this not a worry?

Cheers
Jay

Jay. Its a Chipmaster cai. It's not low as these photos are taken with the bar off. The pod sits down inside the inner wheel arch with no exposure to outside weather activity. Our system directs cool air (via a modified scoop and ported hole) directly onto the lower section of the pod air filter. You would need a fire hose directed up the scoop to get any water up there. After a " hard" run, you could touch the pipe to the throttle body no problems. But before it was "bloody hot"

Ahh fair enough, just looking at getting something similar but on seeing that was having second thoughts but your expanation makes sense.

Thanks
