I currently own a quicksilver (silver) vz sv6 and was wondering about getting some decal speed stripes placed right down the middle of the car. Not really sure if this is the way to go or not, or even what colour to get the stripes done in. If anyone has any ideas/comments or owns a vz themselves and has any pics, your information would be appreciated.

I know KPM here in Adelaide do it on the ve and it looks real nice, id imagine the vz would look just as good

There's a huge VE thread on stripes. Your answer will be the same. Some like them, some don't.

This isn't meant as a put down but while I'm sure many would argue the merits of stripes on a car which had the power to justify them, putting stripes on a V6 just comes across as mega try-hard.........

I tend to agree with this, but hey it is your car & if you want them go for it. Others have

I have seen a black omega with silver racing strips and 19" veloce wheels and other than it needing to be lowered 3" all round it looked great! :)

I was in the same dilema with my new atomic ve ute. I decided to go the stripes and apart from bad workmanship from the holden dealer resulting in bubbles they are trick! My ute turns heads big time, if that is what you are into.

It's hard on a VZ because of the sharper angle of the accentuated bonnet lines which makes the end result look weird. I'd imagine it would look similar to this

But if you're going to get it done make sure it goes right to the edge of the bonnet, they look better when done this way

If done properly and with the right colour combo I reckon they look tops.

For the price, wouldn't it be easier to throw in another few hundred and get it painted on? Ive seen the decal sets on ebay for like 300$
