If I've bought a set of genuine GMH monaro tail lights, do i need any different wiring or globes to put them into a VX sedan?

Forget this question, you do need wiring loom for these to work.

Yes you need the correct looms from a Monaro. They aren't very expensive from a dealer.

Dont want to argue with you here planetdavo as you would be far more knowledgable then me on the issue, but I would have thought that the monaro lights would accept the VX loom as long as it wasnt a Lux model ie berlina, calis or HSV as they also have lights in the rear bezal

or is it that the lugs dont line up????

I believe the reason is because the globes fit into different locations than the sedan ones, the length of the wiring isn't quite enough to reach where one or two sockets should go.
The correct looms are something like only $12-15 each from memory, so wont break the bank. I'm sure I've seen them in the parts thread if you want to know tonight.

On a VT model, you also need to run an earth wire from the RHS to the LHS.
The loom runs just under the plastic trim in the boot.
I scavenge a plug pin for the LHS connector as well.
