Hi All
Quick question, tossing up whether to put my Pioneer 6 x 9's in the rear parcel shelf of the caprice or replace them with a good sub, and if so any recommendations on what subs to replace them with
thanks

Did you mean a sub in the shelf? or in the boot?
I'd be more inclined to put subs in the boot, leave the shelf free, then mod the other speakers...

post 136/137 may help you... or may not... but that would also be a handy thread to ask in...

Sorry yes in the rear parcel shelf, have already put pioneer 3 ways in front doors, pioneer 3 ways in rear but looking at changing the subs in the parcel shelf

remember, you probably have the factory subs in the shelf, so oyu can't just pul out the subs and throw in 6x9s without running new wires

AVOID Oval speakers .. :) They do not have the sound reproduction a round speaker gives you for clarity and quality.

Consider putting subs in the boot and leaving the parcel shelf with no speakers, the opening will let more bass into the cabin, but you may need to do something about the road noise that might come through

With that in mind also, you might find a slight complication with the subs in the boot, i had a look at fitting my 12X2 subs into the boot, not that space was as issue, but access to the spare tyre could become one. Not that i plan on needing it often, but i don't want it to be a hassle when/if i get a flat... :1peek:
