If I was getting 207 kw at wheels what would this be at the motor??

Thanks..:)

probably a touch under 300fw

207 x 20% + = if its auto so would be around 250 kw motor

X 1.34 was what I was told by a respected tuner quite a while
ago, so 207 would be roughly 277kw at the donk. Of course
the only true way to measure it would be to pull the motor
and put it on an engine dyno.

Are you serious

Modern cars seem to loose approx 20-22% power through the driveline Older cars use to loose approx 30%

who cares about flywheel, rear wheels wheres it at

I was told by a credited tuner... After a full exhaust/Custom tune I pulled 208rwkw from vzss (AUTO) and he told me it was just under 300, Also said was pretty normal result from what ive got done to the vehilce
PLus a mate had a hsv and pulled 199rwkw stock and they are 285 at engine ...
Im confused now haha

Well I saw a 285kw Senator that only turned out 200kw at the wheels.
M guess is that HSV over inflate their outputs.

Convert rear wheel kilowatts to horsepower and that is roughly what the flywheel kilowatt figure is.

ie 207rwkw = 277rwhp = 277fwkw

I reckon 75% for an A4 and 80% for a M6.
If the manufacturers claims dont match that - its because they tend to inflate when it suits them and play down when it doesnt.

HSV285 should be 214rwkw A4 , 228rwkw M6 - inflated
SS235 should be 176rwkw A4, 188rwkw M6 - deflated
HSV307 should be 230rwkw A6, 245rwkw M6 - slightly inflated (due to the 297 to 307 change of standard DIN etc)
VE SS should be 202rwkw A6, 216rwkw M6 - deflated.

If an A4 makes more than 200rwkw it is making more than most HSV 285 autos. If it makes 210-215 its making as much as many GTS300 A4s ever did.

If its a M6
then the comparable figures are 213rwkw M6 (beat 285s) or 224rwkw M6 (to match GTS 300)

Thank for that mate. Very helpfull.

My Boss 290 when it was totally stock pulled 220-225 rwkw Now I don't think mine would have been making more than the quoted 290, so I would expect 207 rwkw would possibly be close to the 265-270 mark

i reckon the poor boy is going to be more confused than ever now with all these replies :lmao:

i reckon :lmao:! poor bugger,
at the wheels is what matter most imo.
At the same time tho, i don't really care for power readings, i'd prefer a good timeslip as opposed to a good dyno graph...

I think you are spot on there. Too many variables come in to play on a dyno. Oztracks figures were a good indication though(plus or minus 5%)......John

most xr's i know dyno between 180-205 and they have a 240fwkw or 245fwkw. I think 250-265 would be near on the mark. Who knows though! It's easier to just keep the figure at the wheels, it's what everyone here understands!
