Trip to Melton [Archive] - Australian LS1 and Holden Forums

Hi All
I will be going to Melton on wed/thu next week to do an inspection on a property. Does anyone in that area know of any reasonable hotels to stay at? Also if any melbourne ppl would like to meet up and have a few beers and a feed at one of the local places. Wednesday night would be the best night for me.

There is a local Hotel/ Motel just your standard type but it located in the heart of Melton, other than that head into Melb itself and stay at the Sofitel on Collins or Crown Towers.

As for catching up for a :cheers: was that local in Melton or local in Melbourne?

Thanks for that Dan. I was thinking about in melton somewhere. Just think its easier as I will be trying to stay in that vacinity.

maybe the "Q lounge" or "Q bar" whichever it is, nice little place for drinks, or dinner at the galli winery.

There's two pubs in Melton, the Golden Fleece and Mac's Hotel, parents ran them both at one time or another..... I have a feeling Melton has changed a bit since I lived there and attended Melton West Primary School :-)

They have now converted the old CES into the "Q Lounge".:lol:

Wed & Thu nights in Melton will be absolutely dead.

I know it will probably b a bit on the quite side. Its just makes thing easier and I won't have to travel to far to get the things I need done and I don't really know my way around melb to well.
A feed and a few bevies at the local and a short stagger to bed.

Here ya go - they are all within 50m of each other.
My pick would be the Q Lounge for a feed, it is directly opposite the Fleece, just off High st.
The Melton Motor Inn is pretty basic I think but looks OK.
There's heaps of other pizza joints and restaurants all within 100m as well.

Chicken GO GO on High street is a good feed as well. Love those chicken rolls they make there. :D

Hi Jim,

Why don't we meet up at the Q at about 6.30-7.00 for a beverage then get a meal while we are there. Its an open invitation to anyone else thats in the area and would like to have a meal and a few beers.
No I am not moving to mexico..:) Just checking an investment out.

Just arrived at downtown melton. Its just as bloddy cold here as it is in Sydney. I will be getting to the q bar at about 7.30. Common you blokes come down and have a few nice beverages and a bite to eat.

We were sitting next to the fire in the meals area:)

There was Bejay and 2 other mates sitting there eating.

I went for a few walks, even asked a few in the meals area if they were from Sydney, and they all said no:bawl:

Maybe you guys didnt want to admit to it:rofl: or didnt like the look of me:rofl:

I think next time, we will swap numbers:)

Hope the Melbourne boys looked after you cosmo.

Anyway, i had a good feed, a few drinks and left about 10 30 when we were told the meals room was closing.

Good to meet a few melbourne ppl. No secrets just general talk about crap and the usual stuff. I ended up crashing as soon as I got back to the hotel.
Had a good trip home.
