Amongst the empty boxes that the Harrop blowers arrived in, we also managed to squeeze in two new VE's to have some work done.
A silver clubsport and a black GTS

Both were in for cam upgrades.
Sam calls me into the engine room where he has both the cam's we reomved from the 2 VE's on the Cam Pro.
This is the result

Did I forget to mention that both cams are shown here, on the same graph
Identical camshafts
It pays to have the right gear on hand to test

Interesting ... I guess it makes sense that a VE R8 and VE GTS would have identical camshafts.
They both have the "307kw" versions engines don't they?

:yup: ... it's no secret that the R8 and the GTS are mechanically identical. Am I missing something ?

Unless it was a VE GTS and a VZ clubsport, is that the point?

I looove Royal Purple :p
Up until now, cams in a GTS were not the same as a Clubsport.
Me personally, I would be a little upset if I spent the extra $$ on a GTS over a clubby to have the same motor.
Maybey it was more of a suprise to me.
Must be the guys in the Kombies making me feel strange :)

I don't mean to take this thread OT, but has Sam put a L98 cam on the Cam Pro? Would be interesting to know the specs. And since it is a stock cam, no reason to keep any secrets.

What were the results here? How did the cam swap go? Did you guys do any dyno testing and tune before the changes?
Thanks,
Alex

One of the points is to actually check what cam has been put in what engine. Sam checks most of the standard cams that come out of what are supposed to be standard and you would be surprised what is found when you actually check. The same goes for cars that have already had a cam fitted and the customer thinks it is one grind that is in there that he ordered only to find it is not quite what he ordered and may have been more a case of a cam that somebody wanted to sell:). Thats where the Cam pro plus earns it keep,. No myths no magic no lies. Just facts and it is good to see these two had identical camshafts.
PS all new cams are also put on the cam pro to ensure that the person packing the box has put the right cam in the right box. I guess its call just making sure it is actually perfect. Yes they can be wrong or can even get a slight bend in shipping which is not noticable when fitting. It only becomes noticable once it starts chopping out a cam bearing. This can be quick or take time.
