G'day all...

I've been lurking on here for a while but figured with only a few more weeks to go before my Calais V arrives I'd make myself known.. (of course that assumes the Calais arrives on time and from the stories on here that's a big IF but for now I'll assume it will)..

I've been hunting around on here and google looking for good options to help keep the paint looking good and one that has cropped up is ToughSeal. (www nowax com au / www toughseal com au). Seems pretty reasonably priced and comes with a 5 year warranty (although what that's worth will depend on what's restrictions are in the warranty of course)..

Has anyone used Brian's services (nowax) or bought the stuff and done it themselves..?

Older forum entries have people recommending autofxwa who's website recommends "KDS Nanoprotect" which appears to be based on the same PTFE sealant..

Any thoughts / help / recommendations most welcome..

Cheers,
Steve.

I am also just wondering about this... just had my car tinted today and the guy reckoned this stuff is the "shiznack"
Any reviews here?

At least the price doesn't seem like the usual "paint and fabric protection" schemes offered at rip-off prices by the most attractive and best built (.)(.) female at dealerships and really worth 2/3 the price of a bucket of $hit!!

In my somewhat limited experience I reckon you're better off going to a well known and highly regarded detailer and getting them to do their own paint protection using quality waxes and cleaners. However, I'd recommend asking the same question in the Car Care forum on here as some good detailers frequent that section and can hopefully give you their honest opinion.

About to try "Opti-Seal" as bought from Car Care Products...

This weekend involves:
New SSV Wagon Onyx Black - had it 10 days.
Very swirl free paint when received - since had Window Tinter give slight swirl marks in a couple of spots due to wiping body down with after finishing - nothing too major)

Gonna:
Wash using Dod Juice Born to be mild
Claybar all over (Mothers system)
Dodo Juice Pine Lime Cleaner (using random orbital)
Optimum Opti-Seal Paint Sealer (3 coats)
Then 3 coats of Dodo Juice - Purple Haze.

Might do a post showing details if anyone interested - or has it been done to death?

Pics after you're done! :)

Chris from Driven by Shine is doing my new Clubby Tourer today as I type this, he's using the Duragloss sealant. Wax job will be another visit as there's a fair few swirl marks and holograms to get out... the HSV bars are the worst part, far worse than the rest of the car :vpo:
