Hi Folks,

ordered my SS Thunder on Friday :headbang: and just finalising the Holden extras to put on it.

I've always had mudflaps on my previous cars (Subaru Foresters, and other Subaru variants), as I do a bit of country driving, and my folks live on a gravel road.

If I don't lower the Thunder, are the mud flaps worth the investment for stone protection? I had a look at a second handy in a car yard tonight, and it had mud flaps fitted, but I couldn't work out if I decided to remove them down the track, if it would leave more than factory holes in the plastic bodykit...

Also going to get genuine carpet mats, Hayman Reece tow kit, and a Rhino Liner spray in liner, as I reckon they crap all over the plastic ones.

Look forward to taking delivery, and joining the community :-)

Cheers,

Andrew

Congrats on the purchase.
As far as mud flap go, i had them on my ute even after i lowered it, although after a few weeks they split and were essentially useless anyways so i discarded them. I haven't noticed any new chips up the side or anything, and i too do a bit of gravel driving. If you fit them, then remove them, they do leave 2 or 4 extra holes in the rear bumperetted, not noticeable though.

Good luck mate

Cool, thanks for that... Might get onto the dealer tomorrow, and get him to delete the mud flaps from the order...

Forgot to ask another question...

Do people have the Hayman Reece towbars installed, or the genuine Holden ones? I've always used Hayman Reece in the past, but the genuine ones look pretty similar...

I've got the genuine one on my ute, square hitch type (which i think is the same as the haymen reece style?)
Maximum u can tow is 1600kg from memory with an auto, or 1200kg with the manuals,

Interesting - I just spoke with the dealer today about the towbar, and he tells me the only genuine Holden bar now, is the flat bolt on tongue type, which is pretty ordinary...

Mungrel - is there any chance you can post a photo of the towbar on your car?

Cheers,

Andrew
