I have a '06 and its awesome.............just be ready to replace the valve train with some good quality stuff not long after you get it. I went through a head before I went through a rear tyre........and there are many like me.

a lot of people say that about the valves. but a few people have told me they've never had a problem. thumpertalk.com has heaps of info.

When the new models come out get yourself a runout model. you will pay about $7990, thats 2g better in your pocket. With the valve issues i had a 2004 which were supposed to be the worst and never had a problem. Keep them in check and you will be sweet! if they do need replacing get the good gear.

That's a bit rough, engine trouble before you even wear a tyre out!

yeah screw that, thats why i went with a 2 stroke. Now that 4's rev like a 2 you have to do the same if not more maintenance but pay heaps more.
I brought my 300EXC new about 14mths ago, I ride it hard every weekend and all I've had to do is first service at 10hrs... not 5hrs like the 4 strokes. Then basic service every 10hrs. Not a thing wrong and I've done 5 tyres :)
when I sell it soon I'll put the spares kit on it which has complete plastics, shroud stickers, chain & sprockets and grips and sell it as new  I love KTM's spares kit.
Magazines make out sooo much changes each year, but in reality ride them back to back and 99% of the time you won't know the difference.
The trick when buyin a new bike is... bargain like hell on the price....
ring up all the dealers in your state and get the VERY best price then take it to your local, they'll whing and whine but they'll match it.... theres a huge mark up on bikes. I've brought 2 new and both times got nearly 2k off RRP

Honda are running fuel injection on there crf250 in the all japan championships this year, only one in the class. The 450's look to be getting it in 08, possibly the 250f as well. Suzuki has already released there 08 in USA at a show, aluminum (Aluminium) gas (petrol) tank and fuel injection.
P.S Just thought I would Australianize there words:doh:
