View Full Version : VE Flick Key For Sale on eBay
First, I have nothing to do with this, I have bought one myself and am sharing the information for the interest of others.
I priced these up for $295 when I bought my SS. These are $88 delivered. You will need to pay Holden for programming though.

Seems like a very good price.
Now, can I use the existing key out of one of mine rather than getting a new one cut?

The "flick" part of the key slides on to the existing central locking keypad of the key. Costs $25 to get the keys re-programed.
The "flick" key part will have to be cut accordingly to your car.
I had this done when i first got my car.

Despite his claims that you can't normally buy these two bits separate, you actually CAN buy them separate and both key types use exactly the same remote!
You just buy the flip key separate and get it cut, and although this seller includes a remote, unless you really need one, you can buy the flip alone and swap the heads over for less than the $87 posted price, with no need to programme.

Huh? So the flick action isn't in the remote head?? I would have have thought that the flick action was part of the head, not the key.
I've looked at my "non flick" key and I can't see how the keys folds into the key head/transponder thingy. Are you sure about the info you have given? When I checked out the Flick Key on the SSV it definitely folds into the head as opposed to folding up against it.

The key part on the original remote can slide off and you can slide the new "flick" part onto the original remote
i had to get my remotes reprogramed, when i first changed the head the remote would unlock the doors but not turn the motor on

Pffft. Damn. So I will end up with needing to get a new key cut and have a spare transponder left over.
I get it. The key blank and key base are swapped over with the original transponder. No programming required. Like in the pic he supplies.

Believe him - where he works it's his job to know that sort of stuff. :yup:

I do now, it makes sense once you look at the picture of the key head in 2 pieces. I assumed it was a complete unit - transponder/key head rather then 2 pieces together with the key blank.

Sorry, but you do still need to programme the new set. In fact it takes 45mins because you need to de-programme and re-programme every key.
