Mate thats one mean ride you have. NOS, BLOWER AND NOW MINI TUBS WITH TIEN SUSPENSION! I have seen it currently in the middle of mods at APS with picked guards and a massive custom rim fitted. Looking nice. Have to ask how fast have you had the thing up to? And are you getting Frank and Mick to tune it? If so let me know because i might be able to get some video footage for you of a power run and post it up? Cheerz Nathan

Scotty, I'm not sure if that will be enough to impress the dudes at Truck City on a Saturday night. You better add twin snails to that list as well...... just to be sure. Oh, and don't forget the under chassis neons.

How long before it's ready? There's a few others I'd like to see it run against, like jsttry, YIIR8 and The Heat at Hidden Valley. And the 2 x GT-R's and Ken's wagon....

That will be one ride in your car next time I'm up thanks... :)

Thanks Nathan, they aren't going to tune it as was only done November '06. How fast? I've had it around 500rpm past 260 and I ran outa road! That's with the 3.7's but will now have 3.9's so I don't know if it will get there now! Frank will be throwing it on the dyno as I'd like to see the difference in what weather does to her! It was dynoed here at 32C and 86% humidity with 424.5rwkw! Cold weather will hopefully help her! The fastest down the track was a 12.05@118mph will a shitload of wheel spin on Mickey Thompson ET Radials! If you talk to Frank and Michael, I would love to see the dyno run on video matey! :)

Thanks for the comments guys...... I guess it's still in quite a bit of a mess!! I'd appreciate comments once she's finished

My car won't be back for the NT Titles Jay, so you have this meet to run the first 10sec pass for a street registered LS1 in Darwin! Good luck, and may the force be with you!! Ha!!

28x12? Damn that is going to be huge. Can't wait to see it. I couldn't fit 28x9 under mine but know it has been done before.

Highly unlikely to happen on Saturday. Just fun playing. Been ages since we've been up against each other. Last time was a bit unfair as you had radials and you went up in tyre smoke.

Sounds like a plan!! I've put a GM Motorsport "race" shifter in also, so am hanging out to test that one!! 2nd to 3rd is straight up apparently, no shifting across!! Atleast I won't have to worry about putting it back into 1st from 2nd at 120+km/h!! Ha!! Done that twice and let the clutch out, not good B&M!!

Jay, am looking forward to having a run with you! For what you've got there, you pull exceptional numbers but know you put alota time and effort into trying to see what can pick up extra tenths.... where I just go out and try and kill the track with 2150kgs worth of car!! So looks like I need more horsepower to push the weight!! Ha!! Maybe one day I'll strip it of weight just to see what the difference is.............. one day!! Anyway, dumped the bike on her arse last night, so much that the kick stand won't stand the bike up! She's all ready for the NT Titles on Saturday night!

Would be good to see one or a few of these guys from down South come up for the NT Titles next year!! How about it guys?? A road trip to Darwin! :burnout:

Yeah, have thought about it and won't be coming down now! I'll just sit here and wait for her return! Thanks for the comment about her looking like a weapon dude.... she is, but I actually drive her like Miss Daisy!! Apart from when I go down the track a lil and do 300kmh once a month! Dunno if I'll be able to do that now with the 3.9's. Shouldn't make too much difference from the standard 3.7's I wouldnt think

Very fat. I take it from the angle of the camber and the ride height that its still sitting on the hoist a bit?

You can hardly tell from the side view. Personally like a deep dish but you've only got so much room to play with I guess. Adds to that sleeper appearance

Time for some chrome wheel nuts now Scotty :p

How did you end up relocating the exhaust? Is that why the rear bar had to be cut a little? Did you end up using a solid or rubber mount?

Frank and I talked about the deep dish and it's fine if you only use the car for around town and drag racing. I wanna drive it to Adelaide etc and run it around the circuit now, so it would've changed the tracking way too much and I'd be chewing up tyres incredibly fast!!

Maybe Frank can answer the other questions and elaberate more on the tracking side of things or if Lauren knows she can fill us in!

Thanks for posting the photos Lauren, she looks awesome!! Has come a long way in a week :)

Just the NOISE. as I said it sounds awsome. I have been sent for noise tests twice down here and passed both times and was just cruising when I done. (both times was letters in the mail, didn't even get pulled over).

Yours would blow the limit with the mics at 50 feet (mind you it was inside at the time so that would make it worse).

Saying all that.....I wouldn't change a thing

Yeah, out on the open road you can be a lil more heavy footed but it's just not worth it in the city and suburbs! If the authorities see us doing the right thing more often than not, they might start looking elsewhere for more damaging crimes instead of car enthusiasts! But it will take everyone to do that and unfortunately we can't stop d!ckheads from being who and what they are!

She's finished Lewis, but we're just waiting on Street Machine to get their act together and do the photo shoot! The problem is the crappy weather they have down there in bloody Melbourne! I'm hoping to have my hands wrapped around the wheel next week sometime :)

mint, my mate from Katherine told me about this car, he goes up to Darwin a fair bit... I assume D&T would of done the work up there? I'm moving there next year so interested in some of the shops up there and D&T is the only one I have been told about...

Love it though, and you'll be happy with the work APS do, they are top notch!

Thanks also there matey! D&T did not do the work.. initially the exhaust was supplied by Difillipo and fitted by Mick at Rev It Up but has since been modified to go around the 9" by the boys at APS :)

It's been a while since the my last entry so just an update on what's been going on with some photos:

After a good talk with Frank we decided to build a new stroked bottom end:

Eagle Crankshaft with steel 4.000 stroke
Eagle H Beam rods
Diamond Forged 4.000 pistons
GM Performance 6.0ltr cast iron block (bored, honed, decked, chemically cleaned and blue printed)
Rollmaster timing kit - Torrington
ARP main studs, balancer and flywheel bolts
Clevite H series Conrod and Main bearings
Cometic .074 head gaskets
MLS Billet Camshaft 410A Hyd Duration@ .050"lift 235degrees Value lift .561" Lobe 114degrees
Crane 1.7 Roller Rockers and hardened pushrods
Starr pyramid manifold+cooler core
Harrop 8rib pulley kit
8rib belt

We had to replace the cooler core and manifold as I had the older style and now with the bigger cubes, she was getting way to hot! We had another problem because of the bigger cubes, the 2.3ltr Whipple was screaming off her face and working much too hard! After much deliberation with myself, I came to the conclusion that the best way would be to go for the 3.3ltr Whipple (Frank agreed 100%). So now we are just waiting on the rear snout to be fabricated and a few other odds and ends like the new style bonnet, rear billet stub axles and some braid here and there and we're finished.

I popped down unexpected a few weeks ago and took a few photos. Let me say that Frank and Mick made me feel very welcome (I even got to meet the dad) and you will not find people who are willing to help and explain things better than these guys! They are true professionals and i could not have left my car in any better hands! These were taken before she was put on the dyno with the 2.3ltr Whipple. Now I have seen her in the flesh, I am very happy with my wheels :)

I respect your determination fella but sometimes you shold listen to those who told you so.
The 2.3 was always going to runout of legs.
I learnt the hard way - tried to tell ya via pm but you didn't listen.
Anything with the name Starr - keep the f--k away from.Don't believe me then do a search........google

The problem is she was only going to get around 500rwkw with the 2.3ltr but I wanted between 6-700rwkw. I have never had a problem with Peter's gear and my engine has done 50,000kms over 30months with the 2.3ltr Whipple blower and have driven her all around Australia and hasn't skipped a beat once!!! I stand by Starrys gear as the problem was we built the engine to big for the blower!

Your entitled to you opinion and I respect that, but the problem wasn't with Peter Starrs gear :)
