Our ICV (individually constructed vehicle) has finally been finished today with it being road registered. It has been made from scratch, matching various different parts together ie holden motor to audi transaxle. My uncle, his father and me have completed the project which has taken approximately 2 years to build and 1 year of messing about ie engineer. Lots of head aches. Its approx 280 - 300 hp (mildly modified holden supercharged v6) and 850 kgs. Now looking for sponsors for any parts for this project or our next project in exchange for advertising on this car.

Our next project will be a two seater, based loosely on the 1939 W154 mercedes Benz grand Prix cars. We want to get a donor car to transplant most of the running gear from into this project.

The donor car will have to be a stat write off VE commodore with manual v8. If anyone has connections or knows the whereabouts of a smashed VE commodore, PM me. Hopefully starting soon, after we find a better ICV engineer for the job at hand. This next project will get forced induction - not sure what though, but it should fly as it will weigh under 1000 kgs.

Have to wait for the good weather to drive the orange one now though!! Thanks for your interest.

Ugly as sin, but I bet it goes f*&ken hard!
Well done, I would love to be able to build my own car from scratch. Congratulations!

Used David Stannos in Carrum Downs, very poor. Stuffed us around for over 8 months. Especially when he doesnt know half the rules he tries to enforce. We had lots of trouble with noise ie drive by test. The car has to travel at 60 km/h and accelerate (read foot to the floor) over a ten metre period with a decibel meter at the end. Has to be under 76 db. We had the standing sound test at the back 1.5 metres at I think 3000 rpm down to 72 db when it was only had to be under 90 db. Stannos left on a trip for over two months without even informing us himself halfway through this car's engineering.

Will take it out to Calder to see what she will do on the strip. Not really that interested as it is going to be used as a daily driver.

Great effort but reminds me all to well of that Carrot car on those CarsGuide ads.

why use your current project running gear which is all engineered and spend a great deal time and care to replicate exactly the 1939 W154. you could not go wrong

The W154 will be a brand new car ie new chassis and body with all new parts. Doing the next car for my uncles father, the orange one is for my uncle. Anyway, it will only be loosely based on the W154.

It'd be a shame not to competed something with those stat's in a hillclimb or two.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested, and i'll fill you in.

Good to see another ICV on the road especially after a long build/engineering hassles. Hopefully, my own ICV will be sorted out this week as well. Sick of it being on the trailer :vpo:

You Melbourne guys must have some special law for engine capacity to vehicle weight ruling for your ICV's. Damn RTA will not let my car weigh under 800Kg for a turbo 2L :soap:

Yeah, I like your car as well as the lotus chassis has great potential :) However, I am satisfied with 807Kg & 593rwhp so far with R34 GTR Brembos for the anchors. In hindsight, I think dropping the weight down to 600Kg would be suicidal and 800Kg is plenty ;)

Also I prefer a roof over my head, the wind gets a bit choppy at high speed and my aerodynamics are agricultrual to say the least.

The shell is loosely based on this one but with my old VY ute rear brakes lights graft in horizontally for engineering so I can fit aftermarket ute brake lights with the round lenses.

The wreck I used as a donor was imported from Japan and similiar to this. The seats, 6 speed box and a few other pieces were re-used in my car to keep costs down :)

I expect to have more pics available shortly, as have a friend designing the website.
