what sort of rwkw are coming out of a HSV ve with edit and zorxt, have just put a dep on a new ve a6 MALOO R8 oct delevery r8 is the only model in the ute and you have to opt it up with leather ,hard lid ,and $2000 FOR A6,no other detailes till launch in 50 days:)

My brother has a maloo ute 6 months old extractors exhaust system vcm suite not mafless for warranty reasons and the ls2 pulled 265rwkw and ran 13.0 at calder at 109mph wheel spinning the straight!! slicks are the next option. tune was done at CSV in sunshine in melbourne awesome performance with no internal engine mods!! Luvin it!!

You got to love the heads on the L98. This is why when i get a VE at some stage it will be a SS due to the engine potential with mods for the SS. Powertorque put a high 230s cam in a L76 and it pulled 330rwkw plus with ease apparently

Show me an L98 that's done that.

I wouldn`t say pants down. They are very similar.

Both are 6 litres and with the same mods CAI,tune and exhaust are producing roughly the same figures. The L98 does have better heads but the LS2 has the better standard cam. The LS2 gets the 37fwkw from a better factory tune and exhaust. Once you do these mods on the L98,you will get similar figures.

My LS2 made ~270kwrw with CAI + Tune only, i have seen another pull ~280kwrw with a dual 3" difillipo, CAI, Tune and maybe thermostat or somthing else minor...

The L98 has better flowing heads, but the LS2 is GM's performance engine, once modified, they are very similar, even with when the cam is changed they are still within a few either side of each other as they are all based on the same gear...

I think everyone is getting a little carried away with the L98 vs. LS2 thing ... Pretty much all LS2s make more power stock standard (we have seen a fair few 245, 247 and a pair of 249rwkw). L98s are seing 230s. So there is 15-19rwkw stock in it. The LS2 has a much better delivery profile from what I have heard. Which I guess either makes the L98 a bit more than 270 or the LS2 a bit less than 307 (or a bit of both) but still a fair way appart. Perhaps the DIN / ECE ratings also play a small part (7kw).

Simple bolt-ons retain the advantage in favour of the LS2. I think that mild cams also have shown to be slightly better in the LS2. TT kits produce approximately the same output.

I know the L98 heads are supposed to be better but this simply has shown no real results (dyno figures) appart from the flow characteristics of the heads alone. There has been no evidence at all that an L98 will make more power with the same mods as compared to an LS2 here in Australia with the VE ... I think in most cases they are very close.

Hi Red just to answer your question my LS2 with CAI, exhaust and tune made 274rwkw.
The figure to tell you the truth means absolutely nothing. Mate your ute will rock.
