Just wondering what kind of fuel consumption people are getting from the litre class bikes. Just interested to see if there are major differences between brands and 4cyl/vtwin.
My 1000cc vtwin averages about 7.0lt/100km with mixed riding but has been up around 10lt when giving it a real hard time. Don't get me wrong, I really wouldn't care if it used 20lt/100km as its just a toy but it amazes me that it can use as much fuel as my cammed LS1 cruising at 100km/h!

Cheers.

My 98 R1 gets around 7L/100km usually although I have had closer to 6L/100km with lots of steady cruising. My 07 R1 got about 8L/100km on the last tank although it only has 500km on the clock so is probably a bit tight still.
Quite similar to yours it would seem :)

I normally get about 6.8 l/100 km on my 05 Fireblade when riding the bike everyday around town. That isn't being gentle either, but on a trip I can get as low as 5.75 l/100 km cruising at 100. The bike has K & N air filters (they are nowhere near as restrictive as the stock ones), Devil exhaust and Power Commander.

My brother and I have a saying..... "whoever has the most toys when they die wins".
I think that sums it up!

Yeah I thought you 4 cyl guys would be getting alot better fuel comsumption than me. I think the short gearing (4200rpm@100km/h in 6th) is what kills it for me. The Cagiva redlines at 11500rpm so she wasn't really meant for cruising!
