Got one for you tech heads.

Received a wireless modem for the Girls home computer (Dora the Explorer type machine) Mrs wanted to use it for emails etc. Before you laugh, the system uses Windows98 whiich plays Dora the Explorer just fine.

Problem is the modem we got came with software (Telstra set up disc) that doesn't support 98.

Anyone got a clue or disc for these EWire modems that will run/instal on '98? Or am I just sending the lot back? Telstra are no help.

TIA.

John

Are you having an issue with finding software drivers (internal modem/USB?) or loading the telstra setup disc?

It could be easier to use a router to the PC and have the modem connect to that. Many ISP's also supply USB modems and Win98 is flaky at best on that. It might be time to upgrade.

Post up what brand/model the modem is. The setup disk probably just loads drivers (if its a USB modem) or runs through setup wizard (if its a ethernet modem).

These things should be able to be done another way other than using the disk. If you post up the details we can have a look.

get a router and run a wireless card in the 98 pc or cable it direct to the router and attach the modem to the router
