Hey guys, im in a spot of bother... I dont know whether to get HSV Coulson seats made up or get some VE GTS seats to put into my VU SS ute..
They will fit as my trimmer said he just adjusts them to suit the rails..
Wondering that peoples thoughts are??
My thoughts:
Coulsons: I love the coulson look and comfort but everybody has them..
VE GTS - No1 has them that i know of and its something different and they would have to be just as comfortable..
Please let me know your thoughts guys :)

The VE seats would have side airbags, but I wouldn't know if your ute has side airbag activation sensors to suit.
Everyone has Coulsons? I would doubt that unless thay came as standard in HSV's etc.
Coulsons get my vote....super bolsters and have that chunky space age look.
New VE GTS seats would cost plenty of moolah too I reckon...if you can get them.:yup:

Hey mate, the ute has side airbag activation as far as im aware, as i took out my original cloth SS seats and put in VY leather seats and the airbag/seat belt chime kept coming on..
Everyone has coulsons meaning, almost 90% of people that have done up there interior go for coulsons as they are so popular..
I can pick up the VE GTS foams for pretty cheap and i love the coulson look, but its just a matter of either or, thats why im asking to see what majority would like to see in a ute, as im going to start putting her into shows very soon...
My pick would be the Coulsons in VU, because of the smooth rounded lines of the interior.
If it was a VY/VZ interior, then the sharper straight lines of the GTS seats would probably work for me.
Let's be honest, they're both a bloody nice seat.

for practicality i would go for the VE GTS, not as cumbersome to get in and out as the older coulsons

anyone got pics of coulsons I can have a look at. I do like the GTS seats and would enjoy a GTS for its seats, dynamic suspension and wheels. Had to settle for R8 but can't complain.

I recon the VE seats are the pick to go for. I like the tighter lines of them over the fatter looking coulsons.
BUT after reading what Doug wrote I agree with him too about the coulsons matching the rounded interior.

I may be biased but go the Coulsens, I have them in my R8 & you cant go past them really.
VE seats into earlier models is still a new thing though

I have had both ... Coulsons in my VXIIR8 and GTS seats in my GTS (duh) ... I prefer the GTS seats, easily the best seats I have ever had.
In terms of what will look more natural, I reckon the Coulsons will look better, the GTS seats might look out of place ... if they even fit ???
I like the way you're thinking though ... keep us posted.

i really like the VE GTS seats but as Dug suggested it may look a bit out of place since the VU SS are more rounded compared to the VY onwards..
Coulsons are really reall comfy so id hate to think what the VE GTS seats are like Nick... LOL
Ill keep you guys informed over the next fortnight as to what i go for :)

Don't get me wrong ... nothing wrong with the Coulsons, I just like the GTS seats more.

I have Coulsons and I'd go the VE seats. Just cause they look tuffer. Coulsons are very supportave though. I hardly move on my leather ones.

In my opinion go for the seats that are more comfortable and fit you. By this I mean The VE GTS seats are slightly larger in the ar$e and thigh area. Good for guys 100kg plus. The Coulsons are slightly smaller and held me in place nicely.
The GTS seats are easier to get out of and would have less wear and tear on the drivers RHS thigh support where you get in and out of the car. (actually thinking out aloud it may be that the VE has a bigger door opening too)
Having said that I like the clean lines of the GTS seats - they look ace.
Whatever you choose It will be a nice place to steer the car from anyways.

BTW I agree with some people to stick with the same vintage seats as the car...so coulsons get my vote for the VU. (Just cant get the damn picture of the GTS seats out of my head though...mmm.)

i'm tossing up on the same thoughts for the shark. Both seat foams are comparable for trimming (price wise) and can fit. Coulsons look the ducks nuts in the ute, they suit the overall look of the car and IMO (having driven a VX clubby but not driven a VE GTS) feel like they hold you in the seat better.
Personal choice my friend, also have a look at VY-VZ maloo seats, not as big as lazy boy coulsons but do feel good to sit in.

Go the coulssens....VY ones if you can get them, best seat so far. I prefer them to sit in over the VE GTS seats.
