Can't see it happening at all really.

it could. probably wont, but there is no reason holden is any different to any other OEM that gets bought and sold

coorect but I'd suggest GMNA needs a "cash cow" to keep GMNA afloat so GM will hold onto it as long as possible

It wont happen, not in this lifetime. GMH is the Global Leader for design in RWD Sedan Platforms and also the creater of the ZETA Architecture (Which the VE, SAAB 9-3, etc are all based upon).

Holden by itself could not survive without GM as it would loose access to all it middle east export markets (where Commodores are badged as Chevs) which are extremely lucrative. You forget the Australian Market only takes up approx 50% of Holden's total production output.

So in short, nope, it wont happen, GM would shoot itself in the foot if it was to try an sell it off.

It depends if GM was to sell of of holden or part of it. It could easily sell of Holden Vehicile Operations (the adelaide plant) and keep the rest etc.

At the end of the day it comes down if their is more money to be made by selling Holden (or part their of) or by keeping it.
