hey guys was just wondering if anyone would have any reason why I shouldnt trade in my 2002 vx s pac for a vt ss?? Also if I was to do this how much do you reckon I will be left paying or should I be able to work out some kind of a pretty much equal swap?

Personally i wouldn't do it.
I don't see the point in trading a newer vehicle for an older one, regardless of motor.

Each to their own though.

Why not just look for a VX SS instead there is plenty of them around for good prices.

To find a dealer who will do a swap is almost impossible. They are in the business to make money, not help out people. A trade in on a vxS is probably around the 11-12? k mark if its in mint condition (correct me if im wrong)
To buy a vtss of a dealer, looking around 15-ish... Given the similar value, they would try to downgrade the value of your car as much as they can.
You would be better off in my opinion, sell your car privately, then shop around for a vx ss rather than a vt. If your after a gen3 anyway.

i presume your trying to get into an LS1 and not a 5l.
Tim (good name that one) is right, they will try and downgrade the value of your car. Depending on the condition, you should still get a decent price for an s-pac vx if sold privately....oh wait your not in WA, so take a few thou off the price then lol.....but even still a VT would be cheap you woul think.

Is the S pack supercharged? If not, and if I were in your situation, I'd definately go for a VTII SS, probably still would even if it was the super 6 actually.

cheers

nah it is unfortunately not the super version otherwise I maybe wouldn't bother upgrading yet. Does anyone know who would offer the better price for comprehensive insurance for <25 male driver with a V8? The price really does jump a bit between the 6 and 8 huh.

Noone is selling a manual VTII SS that is interested in swapping?? LOL worth a try.
