G'day people.

On the weeekend I though I'd go and spend some money on the car isntead of my dogs so I changed my high, low and parker lights to Plus 50's. Havent put them in yet cos I am one Lowbeam globe short until they get some more in. Low Beams were H4's. High Beam - H1, Parkers were 12V 5w. Should make some good difference from the stock ones.

Got a bit of a hitch though. I sorta like everything looking the same so was gonna do the fog lights too. When I pulled them out they were H27W/2.

Took them to the place i got the rest of the globes from and they dont make a plus 50 for those globes. Had a look at some others and the HB3 globe is similar except the contacts in the plug at in a slightly different location. As you can see with the pictures.

Can I change the plug running off the end of the wires from the car that go to the globe to suit the HB3???

Haha... Keep me posted on this one, my foglights dont seem to do much (got 100/90 h4s for standard)
Trying to get just a standard foglight globe was a mission!

When I pick up the other globe on the weekend I take some before and after pictures.

We changed the ones in the father in laws mercedes and liberty in 5 minutes. none of this taking the airbox out and battery nonsense that I am gonna have to do.

Had some time on the weekend to put my new globes in. Didnt get any befroe night time shots cos once I had all the globes on Saturday morning I just wanted them in. I've created some side by side shots so you can see the difference teh globes make. You'll notice the car looks different colours in pretty much each photo. That will be the phone camera and the amount of light around etc. Nothing flash but you can get a pretty good idea of the difference.

I havent taken her out at night yet, the difference between the foggies and the normal lights isnt that obvious close up. I'll need to get the missus to take it for a spin and I'll get in front and see if it looks any different on the road from distance

Pretty pleased with the result, except for losing all my avg fuel and k's arhghghg

I did mine about 2 weeks ago, Narva dont do that globe in a plus 50 or 5000k

I got mine from ultra, $75 for the pair of High beams and fog lights, all 5000K, the only reason I did this was because the std light looked yellow in comparison to my HIDs which are 6000k the 5000k still look a litlle yellow in comparison to the hids but better and doesnt look yellow when the light is on the ground.

Your want to create LESS glare for front fogs, not more. In this respect, I'd be seeking 'All WeathEr' variety instead (via Germany), or the Arctic Blue - this gives a whiter light within existing beam parameter.

The Plus 50 variety are fine for the other lights.

Anyhow, a Plus 50 HB3 should be out by now I'd have thought, I recall Narva saying as such some time ago. HB3 Plus 30's are online.

Grange - Do not screw around with the plugs, there are good technical reasons why the mild difference. Be patient and ye shall source what you need. In basic terms, note that in the front fog bulb is the inherent 'bulb shield' - remove this, and the lamp will no longer comply, a defect, as the fog lamp shall glare excessively. You'd end up with a fine for causing undue glare, = 1 demerit point.

Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the ‘warning-time’ given to approaching traffic, at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Store it in the boot. I suggest Hella Part Number 2901 - $70, or from Auto Accessory Shops, - supplier "Prokit" - Item Number RG9212 - $20. A World/Euro standard triangle device exceeding AS3790 triangle performance requirements. http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/lic_drivesafebook_part4.pdf

1 demerit point & $100,,, same as high beam being on... should only use them when there is no oncoming traffic... or when there is fog anyway...
Anyways Frank,,, thats a big dog!!

Yeah I saw the HB3's in the shop so yeah they are available but the plug dont fit the ones on the WH. Theres a bit of plastic and teh pins are closer on the H27W's. Anyway the main reason was to kepe the light's looking the same, not top white and bototm yellow but that as it turns out it's still similar. In day time light anyway. I'll be leaving them as is.

I put HID's in my lowbeem and Plus50's in the high beam. Also changed the globes in the parkers to the Monaro Silver ones which look better.
