Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.

Anyway, had my TS Astra worked on about a month or so ago and since then have had no music because the stereo (Blaupunkt 520) will not accept the factory supplied security code. :vpo:
I need to remove the stereo to get the serial numbers off it to get a code, but can't see how it comes out.
So far I have removed the 4 allen bolts at the front and have removed the glovebox to have a look behind there, but it won't come out.
Anyone know the trick? :eyes:

Hi Mate,

Had the same problem with my wife's TS astra sedan. After you remove the allen key bolts you need to insert some wire into each of the 4 holes (Wire coat hanger is suitable for this job, you'll need 2 pieces bent into a u shape). These need to go in about an inch and even then you will need to wiggle the deck around as it will still be quite tight. If you've removed the tray underneath see if you can get your hand in benind the deck and push it out. Good luck.

Park it in Footscray or Sunshine, it'll be out in 35seconds

Jeez Stretch, you weren't wrong about it being tight!
Got the wire in and then it took a lot of leavering and even more swearing to get it out, but finally got there in the end.
Main problem was that because the back of the radio is enclosed with a plastic covering/casing, there's nowhere you can get in behind it to push the radio and not the casing.
Oh well, all done now, only need to find out the code for it now.
Thanks for your help mate, you're a legend.:bow:
