Tuf-057 insisted we do the "2hole mod" on the barge, I kept saying yeah, yeah Tuffy Mcfluffy, my airbox has 2 holes in it already but he nagged and nagged until I agreed. VXSS346 bought along his old collection of adjusted airbox bits as did Panelman, Tuff and myself.
We sorted through the bits and found that the lower half of the airbox VXSS1764 brought with him had some huge holes in it 110mm & 90mm as well as a Monaro shroud with huge holes in it too and in the right places so we glued together his lower airbox shroud, my HSV Maf pipe and lid, Tuffy's connectors and we moved the temp sensor to the maf pipe. Took it for a run and it felt very nice...

Chev has had a little play with the barge, mainly because he can't help himself and must make everything better. he did sneak the output from around 178rwkw up to 199.7rwkw with a little tickle after a service or on a dyno day.
Today I went to visit Chev and Big Rob as he was tuning a Nissan 4x4 (355ci V8 mongrel)Off Road racer that he set up fo the Safari a few years back. I showed him the mod Tuffy had nagged me into, chuck it on he said so we did we also did a run on LPG just to see how it followed a PCM tickle, Chev also had a little play today too Can't help it. I will let the dyno sheets tell the story.
Note check out the torque difference.

The lpg computer follows the PCM like a shadow, you gotta love that. SGI is good..

Top stuff Shep..great result..shame I could not make it down and how awsome is that off-road 4x4!

I have another mate with a LuxoBarge who needs all the good fruit.. I think he has already talked to Chev, but I'm sure he will be part of the crew soon enough ;)

From my experiences down there, the lure of KFC as a dangling carrot has always been a positive. Mind you, every time we do go to pick it up, he just keeps on bloody working, and ends up with cold chicken and chips!

We need more Lux-o-barges on deck, that's for sure.

That 4x4 was worth hanging around for, you should have seen it take off down the road:eyes:

We thought we might have got too much KFC on the day but Wonky followed us through the door at Chevs, all was saved.

It's great to have mates, thanks guys, it was like a little swap meet in tuffy's garage

great to see you are starting to slowly add a couple of little extras for some good gains shep.

mmm..... I wonder if I should take a cruise to chevs just to see what the wagon can do before she goes.

Glad I was able to help in some way at least.

Excellent torque increase there, definately be able to feel that on the road.
Any reason though why the power dies off a bit earlier than before though? (over 5000rpm)

Great effort all round though.

Guys, sorry, but these 2 pics were deleted from the thread, reason being: 'Keep it on track'.

So here they are again.

Nice outcome there Sheppo for the barge. What's next?
