Is it just me or do you sit really high in the HSV E Series cars.
Even with the seat fully down I am still sitting too high and don't feel like I'm sitting in the seat but on it. I really need to lower it further, some how, but it appears the seat sit on a rise in the floor pan on one side so it ain't going to be easy.

I have an SSV and it seems to be fine. I feel like i sit right down in the seat. But the GTS has diferent seats i guess.
My brother has a VX SS and that feels like your up on top of the seat, not in it.

Love my seating position and the seats, was dring a VX with Coulsons for a while and prefer the GTS seats. Just my opinion.

Maybe you are extra tall?

I know how u feel mate...I felt exactly same way in my R8 E-series. But I think it had a lot to do with my previous car..which was a series 8 RX7...

Mate we are not imaging things...I just read this. "In its favour, space and comfort are strong points. All the seats are generously proportioned, although the driver’s is mounted a bit high, with visibility hampered by the intrusive A-pillars and rear wing". This is an excert from autoexpresses test with M3/R8/S5/Cayman.

How tall are you markhit? Admittedly I've got an SSV and not GTS, but I'm just under 6ft and with the seat at its lowest I feel too low.

I'm not even 6' but definately feel too high. I have owned Brock Commodores, an SV5000 and about 20 other cars but when I'm in this one I feel above the centre of gravity and hence feel thrown around.

Hi Markhit,

When I jump out of the 350Z into my Caprice I feel like I am seated WAY too high. But I'm still perfectly comfortable, just not perfectly placed for driving through the twisties. Its a compromise that needs to be put up with, and perhaps appreciated, in a car that was designed primarily for family carting duties, where visibility is considered far more important than the driver's centre of gravity.

I had the same issue when i bought mine, im 6foot 1 and coming from a VY SS felt like i was way to high, but after a little while you get used to it, and i think the seat settles in a bit too.

Actually I have noticed this to in the VE's I have driven. No amount of fiddling could get the seat to fit as I wanted. I havent driven an E series HSV though. I find I sit further in to the seats in the Monaro. Still none of the Holden's are as bad as the Ford's, you really sit on those seats rather then in them. I like alot of things on the newer Fords but the seating position annoys me.

Yeah my SS-V seats definitely seem too high - I currently have them in the lowest position and I am 6'2".

Not my biggest complaint about the seats though as I think there biggest downfall is the piss weak lumbar adjustment and lack of side bolstering. :vpo:Coming from a Mazda RX-8 with electric adjustment (inc lumbar) they feel like park benches !

Not sure on the seating in GTS.

I'm driving a Calais V, and i reckon the seating is to high
Especially with the sunroof, which is perfectly positioned to have the edge right in the centre of the drivers seat. I stand 6'3 and my head is constantly touching the roof lining were it drops down to accommodate the sunroof guide rail

Im currently driving a VS Calais and i have the seat all the way down, im 5'7" (not tall) and on my test drive of the VE ute i thought it was way to high too.

Its not too high for the car. Its about right to me. Drove my old VS for a week while some R&D work was done on my car and when I got back in the VE it seemed high by comparison, but I find it actually a better driving position and spot on for my Putty Road runs.
