Try emailing Billet in the US.
Their shipping prices aren't too bad.

Try Budnik Wheels USA, they have a dealer in NSW. http://www.budnik.com.au/

They make awesome wheels but fairly expensive.

I priced some for a friend last year and they were only about $300 in shipping.
It's worth going straight to the source!

I guess I'm lucky. I have a buddy in the US who is going to send me a set of 22" for the Burb for just the cost of shipping.
Brand new with tyres...FREE!
He has a booth at SEMA each year and they dump/give away wheels and tyres rather than cart them back to LA. Crazy huh!
He offered me 24 or 26. They're just TOO big.
You should be able to get some wheels for half what you're expecting...Oz dollar is still pretty good right now.
The killer will be the tyres here!

I'm pretty sure my buddy got quoted $275 per wheel and around $300 for shipping all 4 from Billet Specialties in the US.
Might pay to drop them an email.

With the current exchange rate it would pay to look directly at the manufacturer/supplier in the states. I imagine there is a fair mark up over here especially now.

I have a mate that was looking at importing boats - there are a lot of things that are becoming very viable for the short term which can certainly benefit from.

I agree. Nice to be different and Billet wheels will really change the look of your car. I went through Ziggy's Hot Rods in Sydney (they are dealer for Budnik Wheels Aust.) Not cheap, not quick, But the wheels are unreal. Well worth the wait. Dont forget you can buy a ticket for a chance to win some of these Budnik Billet Wheels at Cruise for Charity this year. Hope this helps.

Rocket Industries in NSW sells billet wheels too. They seem to be well priced with most of their stuff, especially if its trade.
