View Full Version : Best CAREFUL & professional tyre & wheel alignment place in Melbourne?

We've done almost 20k in the GTO, & the P Zeros are wearing pretty well with no tyre rotation/ alignment etc. However, I've noticed the front tyres are wearing very slightly on the inside, so I suppose i wouldn't mind swapping the front tyres from rim to rim on the front to even up the wear, IF I COULD FIND A RELIABLE CAREFUL PROFESSIONAL PLACE THAT WOULD NOT MARK/DAMAGE MY RIMS IN THE PROCESS. Is there such a place in melbourne?-I'm in the bayside suburbs, but I'll travel to get the job done right.
Cheers, Pickles.

I don't know if they are the best or not, but had an all wheel alignment done on my car by Pedders in Frankston the other week after having 4 new tyres fitted and really impressed with the way they went about things.
Contact Simon.
I think APS in Frankston also use them as just around the corner from them.

I'd give quadrant in Berwick a call. :)

Thanks for your replys so far--I've used Quadrant before for bilstein shocks, but I didn't think they would be into changing tyres etc.
what I'm after is:
1. Someone that will treat me with respect, & who will LISTEN to what I want.
2. Someone who will respect our car- ie place it on the hoist properly & carefully, & not hit the doors on anything, or damage the skirts/underbody etc.
3. Someone who will undo the wheel nuts carefully, without marking the rims with the rattle gun.
4. Someone who will not leave any marks on the rims, when changing the tyres.
5. After the work is done our car will be returned to us in exactly the same condition as before the work was done.
All fairly simple stuff you might say---well yes, I think it is too, but the last two places I have been to with the Astra for similar work & a puncture, both damaged the rims--I was upset enough with the Astra-I don't want any repetition with the GTO.
I don't mind paying-I just want a perfect job.
Cheers, Pickles.

Traction Tyres
65 Kellett's Road Rowville.

I've dealt with them in the past for my VS, and found them to be very professional, and well priced also. I had a complete front end alignment done, and they spoke to me during the process, explaining how something had worn, and that was causing the irregular wearing I was experiencing on the left front tyre, and that whoever had done the alignment previously had put it all completely out of wack. They corrected it up as best they could, without having to replace parts, and explained what needed to be done if I wanted the issue totally fixed up. I've had the Yokohama C drives on the car for just over 35,000km, and everything is wearing perfectly, no issues at all.

Never had a problem with Balwyn Tyres, Whitehorse Road, Balwyn. Wherever you go just remind them of the problems you had with the Astra and tell them you were referred to their place by satisfied customers because you were told they'd look after the GTO

Good luck!

Ive used bridgestone in Frankston, Pedders and Bob Jane, the best service I ever recieved was Bob Jane down there, but who I would recommend nearer to you is Bridgestone in Cheltenham, its next door to an exhaust shop......thinking.............near that huge Mall that goes over the Nepean hwy, bugger cant remember excactly, but if you say to them that you want to watch every step , Im a fussy bast@rd( even though the techs get their hackles up) thay are cool and take alot of pride in their work, it was 2 years ago since ive been but if management hasnt changed they are good.

What is the name of that shopping centre? If you are heading north on the nepean and turn left at the lights directly under the mall overpass continue about 1 klick and bridgestone is on the left.

Pickles, Can you let us know how you go when you get it done, i'd be very keen to try the same place. I've had all sorts of trouble in the past with tyre places. The last time they lost my rare valve caps not to mention rounding my imported lock nuts. cheers
