I need to transport a car from Perth to Brisbane so am wondering if anyone has done this recently (or maybe sydney/bris to perth) who they used and approx how much.

Use the :search: Luke!

There are quite a few threads on good transport companies to try and others to probably avoid. Admittedly they won't have prices for Brisbane to Perth (probably a bloody fortune) but for example in early Jan this year I had a car transported from Brisbane to Melbourne (depot to depot) for just over $400. That was with Patrick Autocare and I was very happy with them, though admittedly it was only basically a hack car to be used while I waited for my VE so I wasn't unduly fussed.

However, it arrived with no marks, only about 0.2km added on the clock and no petrol or anything missing!

Gordons transport (yellow pages), cost me $990 to send a VS ute Perth to Brisvegas, I had to give 2 weeks notice to them.

They cost on size AND weight though and my ute was empty.

Autotrans. Cost me 1050 from Melbourne to Darwin. Should give you a good idea from Perth. Took 10 days. Good service and tracking of the car on the net.

that's toll and they would have transported it via the railway network..

Toll / Autotrans is the same thing. Autotrans is the car transport part of the business.
Had fours cars transported to date in a last few years. 2 by road and 2 by train. No differance in price bar the usual CPI rubbish. I think it is all train now but makes no difference really.

Yes it was Autotrans and it came by ship, Due to the train derails at the time.

Check if they do put it in a container for you , I got a senator over from Melbourne to Perth via autotrans and when it turned up it was absolutly filthy , dust got into it everywhere , took ages to clean .

I saw them put it in the container, the day I dropped it off, I got a call saying the ship had docked and I could pick it up the next day,

when I picked it up from the depot the Car was as clean as when I gave it to them in Brisbane and only 1 km extra on the clock

Sorry mate i didnt mean to question weather your car had been in a container or not . i was just saying that smithy101 should ask about container because it might not be standard .

A Container is better.

I sent a race car to Barbagallo and back and it cost me $2680 return.
The car above it leaked oil all over the bonnet and it had a fair bit of dust all over it.

If it travels down the bottom they can get stone chipped as well.

Cheers
