As the topic states, do the vy ss utes have t/c. Im about to purchase one very cheap to wreck, but need abs unit for my own vehicle.

After last night I can say beyond a doubt, hell no.

I blew a tyre and hit a gutter. Fortunately the only damage was to the tyre. Worst part is I can't even replace the tyre today because the tyre joints are closed care of APEC.

I know my VU (man) definately doesn't but are ther not some ute out there autos particularly that have a 'rumoured' anti abuse mode???

Thats really weird i thought they were fitted with T/C.. my VX sedan has traction control. Ya learn something new everyday!

as i understand it vu-vz utes didnt have T/C but the vz Maloo did (not sure if vy Maloo did or didnt) hope this helps

why is that? doesnt really make sense to me, arent utes meant to be loose on the rear?

Yeah, Iv'e never really understood why they didn't put it in. I guess there must be some reason that the boffins could tell us.

Extra engineering/fitment costs???

Perhaps varying payload weights could play havoc with it.

When I bought my VY SS ute new in 2004 T/C wasn't an option then.

Yet the VY SS auto factory tune has populated traction control tables. When I first bought my car, I honestly tried and not even a tyre squeal was heard :bawl:

Having a mate with a stock KF laser do one after I could not was the worst shame ever

I agree with lowriding. Definately no traction control on my VY SS ute. Did originally talk with some people at AMCAP (Holden part distibution centre in WA) and they told me there were issues at the time so it was not made an option. I think in the sedan (VYSS) it was std, we have it in our SV8.

im pretty sure there is an anti abuse mode installed in my VY SS MANUAL UTE. Not until 4000rpm in second does she really open up. Feels very restricted up until then

same as the NO remote fuel release on utes?? is it that hard to do.....
