Looks to be good value there Gary. After I've fitted the thingys I'm picking up from you in the second week of October and if I have time left at home, I may have to take you up on this offer (minus the Rip - I've been experiencing the smooth, slick shift action for a while now!).
Cheers,
Macca

After speaking to Chev, i booked my car in for the package. Cant wait to try that RIP shifter.

After speaking with Brad about his clutch, we decided to go with the Ace option 3 over the X Grip. Brad's wife drives the SS, so a "softer" approach was called for. Will be finishing your SS tomorrow Brad:)

I have had the car back a couple of weeks now. The pedal feels slightly heavier than the old clutch but the take up point is much better. It is very smooth under hard driving or normal. The RIP shifter is the best part though. The shifter feels very solid and the gates are closer, but much easier to select the gears. I havent missed a gear since. And that change from 2nd to 3rd at full throttle is fantastic!
Thanks for your advice Chev, good to find someone I can trust.

Good to hear that the Ace option 3 suited your application doigs. As for the RIP, well the improvement in the whole driving experience goes without saying.
I'm still tossing up about what I'll put in mine when it finally lets go - which won't be too long, I'd reckon. Chev will be the man doing the work in any event.
Cheers,
Macca

Well, after mildly abusing the stock clutch, firstly with a cam and then head/cam, it was time to give up the ghost and the pedal wasn't doing as it ought to any more.
So, a quick trip into Chev's today resulted in me driving out with a brand spankers ACE Option 3, kindly installed by Big Rob and bedded in by the man himself - Chev.
The clutch feels great and has exemplary manners.
I can highly recommend it, so give Chev a call and you, too, can be shifting happily ever after...:serenade:

We fitted another Ace Option3 clutch kit and a fantastic RIP shifter to a VZ Monaro late last week. Again it was great to see a huge smile on the customers face after a road test. He commented on "why didn't Holden do this mod?". We will be fitting the Option3 Plus soon to a blown VY shorlty. The Option3 Plus has a greater clamping force to cater for more horsepower. Thanks to Mal Wood Automotive for the grouse clutch package:goodjob:

Mal, is there any chance that you could perhaps furnish Chev, or other site sponsors with the horsepower ratings, or methods of determining which clutch ought to be used in any particular application (mostly in relation to the LS-engine series)?
There seems to be a lot of questions asked about the Ace clutches on here and having the info close to hand would be an advantage for forum members.
By the way, my Opt 3 is going very well!

I am currently working on the ratings for each clutch in our whole range and have had great feedback on all of the ACE clutch range. The Premium option 3 and option 3 plus clutch kits continue to be well received because of what they deliver and that is a clutch is smooth to drive with no shudder and great holding capability. I have had the ACE Option 3 Plus holding 415 rwkw in a 427 VE with a blower so these units are certainly proving to be a capable option.
Regards, Mal Wood
Great to here from you Mal. Keep those grouse clutches coming.:goodjob: Fantasic feel and "orrsom" street cred.

Chev been a while but the car is about due for another service. If you can remember last time I asked you take a look at the clutch and it ended up on the tilt tray to Holden for another Master Cylinder. Wanted to book in for a service and one of these option 3 clutches at the same time. I know this thread is pretty old so wanted to know how much I would be looking at for the clutch, fly, braided lines and the other goodies initially mentioned? Not too worried about the ripshift part but the rest seems like a sound investment. Will be looking at doing it in around 3 weeks when the car comes up on 60K. Let me know PM if necessary or I will just give you a buzz closer to the date, need much notice to order one in?

For anyone whp is interested, this clutch made the car feel like itgained another 50kw, had no idea just how rooted the stock clutch was. Big thanks to Rob, went over and above on this one no thanks to a certain dealer not doing what they said they had done a few months ago.
Stock pedal feel, grips like buggery, on a long sweeping left hander onto the freeway gave it a bootful in 2nd with tc off and scared the crap out of myself, the car hadn't been able to do that for a long time. Don't put up with the stock clutch go and get one of these ASAP.
Thanks again fellas, awesome job and good to catch up with a few new faces from the forums last night.
Almost forgot, ran into Black Diamond there on Thursday night, good thing you own a tyre shop mate ha ha!
Glad you like the new clutch with our mods big fella. It really does transform the whole vehicle.
Cheers Chev.:)
