Hey guys,
Had my VE SS in for its 30K service on Friday.
I picked the car up close to closing time, so the service guy was in a hurry and did not run through the work sheet with me
I had previously complained of two issues at the 15K service.
The first was the trip button on the steering wheel sticking, which is not life threatening but bloody annoying. I was told at the time that it was "fixed", but of course it wasn't.
This time they have said that they are going to fix it, but are waiting on part # 92194209. Can anyone tell me what that is ? Just wondering if it is an entire new wheel, or just the switch.
Secondly, I had a horrible annoying thump from the rear left at speed. It sounded very much like my VYII when it had a loose shock.
Last time around they said "heaps of them do it, we have no idea how to fix it" :o
This time around they have said that TL1294-0702 will need to be carried out on the rear springs. And they are waiting on parts 2 x 92202727
Anyone have any idea what this is ? Will I need a wheel alignment afterwards ?
The really interesting part comes from two recalls that were carried out.
Firstly, 07CS05 - Clutch Pedal Switch
No idea what they did, but the clutch does seem to be working nicer when pulling away.
Secondly, 07CS09 - BCM CAL
No idea what this is, anyone got any ideas ?
Overall, after 11 months and 30,000 klms, I would have to say that I am very happy with my VE.
For a launch model of a brand new platform, it really has been great.
So much so that I've found myself looking at Clubsports :hide:

TL1294-0702 is a service fix and the rear springs are going to be replaced
Firstly, 07CS05 - Clutch Pedal Switch is just to check if the car doesnt crank while the pedal isnt pushed down
Secondly, 07CS09 - BCM CAL is the the reprogam to the bcm to stop all those batterys going flat
the bcm shut down time is changed
Wonky

I'm betting 92194209 won't be a whole new steering wheel!
The thump from the rear is a common VE problem and I'm guessing your 92202727 will be new (redesigned) springs which has cured many of them. The other possibility is JKGMH and others had something loose around the petrol tank from memory - do a search on his postings for petrol tank and you should find it.
You shouldn't need a re-alignment (I just had my rear springs removed to fix some of the noises but mine has King super super low springs) but based on what others have said I would take it somewhere you trust and have the alignment checked anyway as some people say the factory alignment can be way out! I can't comment as mine was aligned when it was lowered but of course lowering changes the readings anyway so no point looking at the readings then!
07CS09 - BCM CAL is almost certainly the fix for the flat battery issues some VEs have had.

Cool.

OK, must have been a placebo effect thinking it was shifting nicer ;)

Thanks again.

Me too, but that's why I wanted to find out.
The thought of some apprentice pulling my wheel apart to replace a switch scares me just a little.

My factory alignment has been ridiculously good.
I'm still on the original tyres at 30K klms, and they are all wearing perfectly evenly.
Think I'll get a re-align after the spring just to be sure.

Have you rotated the tyres yet???

That's good to hear! :yup: What percentage of tread left?

That's fantastic!
I've done 25k on my VE and I've replaced my rear's once. All four will need replacing at the end of the year though. The front shoulders are pretty knackered now so I'm going to rotate them F->R.
Funny that you have the sticking Trip Switch as I had the same thing. I had thought that I spilt something on it, but there you go.

Yeah rotated at 15K.
Will get them rotated again before the alignment once the springs are done.

Not a lot :P
They are still legal, but they are definitely a fair bit more slippery than when new.
