Hi everyone
Just wanted to find out if anyone else has had a problem with there six stackers in VY's, mine was playing a cd and then stopped for no reason, the error message was "CD Error Play". Is it stuffed so throw it away or can it be fixed, or should I be looking at a new aftermarket head unit, I would like to keep it standard as I want to use the controls on the wheel.
Any advice would be much appreciated
thanks
Phil

They can be fixed, but whether or not it's worthwhile is up to you. I've heard of many of the six stackers playing up so it's not entirely uncommon.
And it IS possible to convert to an aftermarket head unit and keep the steering wheel controls. It can only be done on certain models that have remotes and you have to buy a kit to go with it. I for one am going to keep my six stacker as i think it blends into the dash a lot better than aftermarket ones.
Also, if you get an aftermarket head unit installed and they say the audio controls cannot be connected at all they're full of crap. I was told by two seperate Strathfield car audio places that it couldn't be done at all, then went to JB hi-fi and they said yes straight away and pulled out a detailed book with pictures, prices and part numbers of everything that was needed.

I got so jack of my stacker playing up I ditched the whole system and got a great Alpine double din set up with i-pod connector, with the i-pod I know have a gazillion songs (well up to 20,000 anyway) in the car...and yes it came with optional steering wheel control hooked to the original controls.

Hopefully its a easy fixed problem you have, i hit a pothole once and the cd inside skipped off whatever rails it had and jammed all the inside of the stacker. holden priced me up a new one for ONLY $1400
im pretty sure someone was trying to get a bonus out of me
