What was supposed to be a quiet catch up @ lunchtime at Chev's turned into a pretty interesting Friday afternoon..

We could no longer bear to see the 2.5" X-Force Cat back system laying around gathering dust so Titanium and I got to work
on removing the Powersound Cat back and bolting the new one up to my X-Force Headers and Cats.

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l231/VE-SS_2006/X-ForceFullSystem2.jpg

Meanwhile Chev and Sean loaded up a VT R8 Clubby with a new Tex Clutch and Ripshift..

Since hooking up the powersound 2.5" to the headers, the drone factor became a little annoying around 1800rpm.

Anyway it bolted straight up and it looks good, sounds good and the drone is pretty much non existant. Chev ran it up on the rollers and it was still a consistant 260rwkw's

Titanium was pretty impressed and has ordered the same system for his new R8 Clubby.

Wonky left with his stock VE system back on so that KPM can modify his 3" stainless system to eliminate the drone, so quiet times until he gets that back ;)

Cheers and thanks Chev.

That was my Clubbie, twas good to meet you. Can't wait for the clutch to bed in but so far feels great with only the slightest of shudders but no where near as bad as I thought it would. A big thanks has to go to Gary for all of his help with my clutch choice and for convincing me to go with a rip

I would say it is deeper but quiter, would take a bit of time to realise its true note, need to bake up all that padding in the cans.

I liked it very much!

I just got a x force system installed on mine :) . I did however opt for long tube 1 3/4 ceramic Pacemakers instead of the x force ones. Sounds brilliant still has a litle drone around the 1800 rpm point but everywhere else sounds magic. The little drone I can live with.

The build quality of the Paccies is excellent, the pipes are all mandrel bent not welded bends and the welding and overall finish around the collectors is brilliant.

It will be interesting to hear it when it beds in over the next week or so.

cheers

Z grip for sure. after a lot of time spent thinking about it decided that would suit my non daily driver best. As for the rip I am now regretting now having done it sooner

Tell us more about your Xforce headers. What is the primary size? 1”5/8 or 1”3/4?

Cheers.

Interesting read about the exhaust system, I fitted a full x force 3 inch system to a VE and the thing drones so bad at 110 kmh I'm sending it back and have a Difilippo on the way.

Maybe the 2 1/2 doesn't drone like the 3".

It's Manual, when i test drove it i thought i'll give it to the customer for a week and see how it goes, it got worse and if youv'e got the cruise on in 6th at 110 kmh and go up a hill it's bloody terrible.

By the way Sonny - got the head gaskets today, thanks.
