Recently found a picture of this modified 2004 Vy SS series 2 in Street Machines slickest commodores (Aug/september edition). It is in an article about modifications, and has been modified to around 250- 275 rwkw by The 308 Shop in Dandenong.

Recently we bought a stat write off commodore from Fowles auctions and it just so happens that this is the same car!!

From the article, we know the owners name is Dave. If anyone knows any information about this car or about its owner, it would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone

The article says (quote) - "As we went to press, Dave's VY recieved some further modification, thanks to an unplanned diversion to avoid a car coming the other way on the wrong side of the road. Unfortunately, there are no modifications any of us can make to avoid dickheads on the road. Thankfully, Dave was okay".

It looks like the car that wore the plates [LGND-05] (i think before that it word [GEN-304] as pereviously stated)

Last i saw it, it had a nice lumpy cam in it and sounded hot as, if that helps :p

EDIT - Also, is it just me, or does the speedo look like its stuck on around 180km/h!?!

The speedo looks like it's stuck on zero (or close to it) to me. What you can see is the "SS" logo to the right of the centre of the speedo.

Cheers, Brett

Wheels are perfect , few small scratches 19 inch senator genuine HSV rims. As for the car, it didnt come with a key, so need to get in contact with the owner to see if he has a spare. Cheers

Looks like you can salvage rims and motor from that... is that y you bought it??

Would be good if the motor has a cam in it ...

What have you got planned for it? such a shame to see an awesome looking car like that go to waste!

edit:

He's left the headlights on... (see switch) So maybe you should see if he has a jump starter pack as well as the keys...

Has got or did have:
- Yella terra 1.7 roller rockers
- twin 2.5 inch stainless exhaust system with high flow cats
- HM headers
- Ported 78 or 80 mm throttle body with over the radiator induction
- Mafless tune
- aftermarket clutch ( textralia)
- Aftermarket flywheel
- 3.9 diff gears
- Increased compression to 10.6:1 (shaved heads)
- Crows cam (about 20 % increase on standard)

And we didnt even notice (however someone has taken the throttle body and the yella terra over the rad intake.) Pretty good score.

We are building an individually constructed vehicle (two seats), which will be fully road registered. Done two before , a supercharged intercooled v6(weighs 850 kg) and a supercharged pulsar, which are both fully road registered. It should weigh about 950 kgs so the 250 - 275 rwkw should be plenty. Thanks
