Hi there, I have noticed that the 270kw output is for PULP. I have a few questions about this. What is the difference in kw/nm output between the two? Apart from the output difference, is there any pro/cons for running ULP vs PULP?
Cheers

You probably lose around 6-7 kw maybe more or maybe less.
Although the engines do prefer 98 octane anything less is like pouring sand in the fuel tank. :)

Anyone have some definite numbers on this? eg dyno etc.

the next dyno day after I pick up my SS-V we'll see what a SS-V runs when its run purely on 91.
There's another thread on here started by prodrive that answers the question though.

I changed to 98 Shell and it runs heaps better, certainly worth the extra $$$$$$$$$$....

Holden themselves state a "small loss of performance" when using regular unleaded, but no issues are caused by the use of it.
Remember that factory tunes are always less "on the limit" than many peoples expensive aftermarket custom tunes are, to allow for poor fuel quality, harsh operating conditions, and owners that neglect their vehicles....
If you want to spend less on fuel, use 95 octane PULP, rather than 98 PULP. It's around 6 cents per litre less, for very negligable difference in "factory" performance.

Hi there,
I am leasing mine (should have it in about 4-5 weeks). I checked the lease arrangements and couldn't find anything about ULP-PULP restrictions with the fuel card. The fuel comes out pre-tax so maybe that is why I couldn't find anything? If I want to put PULP, then I guess that is up to me?
Anyways, from the previous thread, it looks like the cost is similar due to better consumption.

If yours is a novated lease then you have no problems and can use whatever fuel you want.
Mine however is an operating lease and is restricted to ULP. although there is no limit on how much I can go through. I don't have a bucket of money that runs out and needs to be topped up if I underestimate my kms....
