hey all, just after abit of help, in my SS, got an aftermarket stereo, and with the head unit, the antenna at the front, it stays up even when you are using cd and not just radio, i dont want it up at all, is there something you can fiddle with to get it to stay down, or is there something in the electrics you have to fiddle round with? im compleltey new when it comes to electrics.
when i installed my stereo in my old VX the antenna would stay down when it went to cd, but its not in the VY, im assuming the antenna isint wired in properly or something, can anyone explain what i must do?? thanks.

I don't suppose its a Pioneer head unit is it. They don't have a dedicated antenna line so installers just use the amp trigger line. That's why its always going up on you when ever the unit is on. Nothing you can really do about it

You could disconnect the ant wire from the head unit and connect it to a switch so its only up when you want maybe?

Thats exactly what i did as i have a pioneer head unit. Just place an on/off switch on the ant remote wire close to the head unit. I put the switch in the trap door in the vx console. Its perfect.

ok sweet cheers guys, so i can either install this switch so i can use it when i want, or disconnect the so called antenna wire all together, polly better to get the switch though, im assuming a car audio shop might be able to supply these switches.
