Pretty sure CAPA had a supercharged boss V8 one of them.

Should have brought an avalanche mate. Throw a supercharger or turbo or two on it and there you go. Fast as you want and V8 growl.

I mean this is your first post on the forum. If you were worried about performance, you would have picked something other than a Captiva. To me it looks like you're a 12 year old Ford fan trying to draw attention to the Ford Territory's performance over Holden's Captiva. Your story about buying one and not being happy about finding this video doesn't ring true.

I agree, if u were so performance oriented, why the hell would u buy a Captiva?

i would have to agree with you all..... anyway even if you were for some reason making a legit post i dont understand why you would even be comparing your standard captiva to what clearly appears to be one heavily worked territory. Go to youtube and look up nissan patrol. Some of the ones in the middle east can beat enzos and McLaren SLRs....... do you think people with ford focuses are concerned about them..... :sux:

My mate just got back eastern creek and said he saw the territory run a 11.2 sec pass, he reckons he spoke to the guys that were next to it and they said it was stock motor, do u think its true?

11.2 is good, but here is a van that runs 9's.

I was told if I type "van quarter mile drag" in Youtube, I could find it.

YouTube - Crazy Van runs a 9.81 second quarter mile (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80gvmEk0D8I)

I have also been told that the engine is the stock four banger.... it sure sounds like it..... probably the mixture was slightly tweaked... My Cousins, next door neighbours Dad told me it could get in the 8's , if he unloads all the tools in the back and fits some new spark plugs.

Hmmm, looks like we need to run a poll.

Is this guy

a) a school kid on holidays
b) a Ford troll
c) just plain dumb :stupid:
d) all of the above
e) got a weird sense of humour :weirdo:
f) shit stirrer :stick:

This car did indeed run an 11.2 and is pulling 360awkw - it is not a troll post and it does have the stock motor, there are a few threads on www.xr6turbo.com about it, with several witnesses and even a few videos of it launching.
We are currently waiting to hear exactly what mods it has but the owner and C&V performance who tuned it wont let the cat out the bag yet, apart from to say bolt-ons only.

vids and more details for the non-believers

How can a "stock motor" have bolt ons? Its either stock or its modified...

AS for your mates giving you s$$% about being slow, that dosn't really make sense seeing as 4WD people movers were never designed to be performance cars in the first place. If I was your mate I'd give you s$%^ about owning a rebadged Daewoo not about how slow it is.

Watched the one in Mackay run 2 weeks ago at T/Tune night ran a 12.4 if i remeber correctly, happy to be corrected.

Has flash tune and exhaust other wise as per factory.

Mind blowing to watch it launch!! almost as good as Markone2 car.

It does seem to run out of legs about 3/4 track but the launch seems to make the quick time, all wheel drive will do that i suppose.

X-Trail GT > Ford Territory Turbo

do you know what 60 footer time or 1/4 that thing runs??? Im not sure of the 0-100 of the 11.2 sec territory, but it pulled a 1.66 60 footer... seeing as its the quickest 60 footer of all the 6sp auto fords out there - quicker than the phoons etc - im assuming it pulls a decent 0-100 time..

i've been a nissan man all my life but i'd still take the turbo territory over the x-trail GT anyday

Capable of low 13's from the factory in standard form, running 6psi at peak power. I was running 18psi in mine before I sold it(imported under the personal import scheme) and the CVT was horrible for a hard 60ft launch but by the 1/8 mile mark, it really pounced. Put it this way, it has the ability to pull away from a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S :)

Also, as the X-Trail GT sells in Japan for around AUS$10,000 these days, it is a definite bargain and leaves plenty of cash left over for modifications...

I dont see what the big deal is. AWD Commo'd have been doing similar times for a while now haven't they? It was only a matter of time before the Ford guys started doing it too. Besides, I'd much rather this AWD any day...
