Getting a popup atm that asks for a UN/PW to the LS1 secure server
The server www.ls1.com.au (http://www.ls1.com.au) at Authorised Access ONLY requires a username and password.
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).
No its not a virus etc. It takes about 5 clicks (cancel) to get past it and happens on every page. No ads are showing hence my theory... Ad server is borked.....

Browsing the forum just now, anytime i click a thread or anything i keep getting a box popup saying:
"Authentication Required"
"Enter username and password for "Authorised Access Only" at http://www.ls1.com.au"
and it asks me to enter my username and password...
I haven't entered it and i will not enter it.
Anyone else encountered this?
Im getting the same crap too!

It appears that adds are located on another server to the forum or the directory permission have been changed. This message appears when the web page is loading the Ad's. I can browse the forums but the pictures for the ads are missing.
Please MR Admin fix it my escape key will wear out prematurely.

Looks like Sidey has moved the adserver location and hasn't considered the permission changes. My login with Mod permissions doesn't require entering username/pass, but when I tried it on a test user account, it required me to click cancel to get through.
I'll let Sidey know ... but you'll just have to battle through it until he see's the message

I hope thats not true...i tried my password for the forum. Not only that but i clicked the drop down menu for the username and my email address was there...so i tried that (including my password...)
I'm getting the same thing too. Initally I thought it was from all those porn sites that were visited on my day off on Monday, but looks like its a common problem.

Why is it, the forums have one problem and everyone bags the crap out of us and says FIX IT NOW...
Live with it until someone is able to sort it out.
Some nice feedback is often appreciated, but alas, your all to hard to please.

Evening,

So it was not a security issue and we do not have to be concerned about passwords etc?
Well done to all concerned, but with all due respect, many who posted were puzzled not abusive thankyou!

interesting that 4 posts had the angry little emoticons (5 if you count uncletones but he was being cheeky) and 3 of them have only been members for less than a year. maybe they don't understand how this forum is run and haven't realised it is free.

Wow I never thought 1 little emote would cause so much anguish. Apologies to those who felt it was directed at them :)
G'Day,
My :flipoff: was aimed at the concern in relation to security, given that I had like others tried passwords etc.
For the record, you may go back through my posts, and on many occassions I have provided positive feedback and congratulations to the Mods and others involved in the running of the Forum.
Does this perhaps indicate that the use of smilies is something that has to be reviewed, given the level of angst they can generate?
Cheers,

PS My signoff at the end of my DITTO post was a :), perhaps that was the message that should have been more taken note of!
