Just for the record, this wont be to everyone's taste. I have a feeling I will be called a pansy just for putting it up. :p
I think its an awesome skit with a good message behind it. It starts off slow, but the last minute gave me goosebumps.

Evening,
Very powerful and sends a great message!
However, from my angle, the supportive figure in the the skit is "LOVE, SUPPORT, FAMILY, FRIENDS ETC."
Cheers,

dude, i have a very offbeat view on religion and various opinions on the mysteries of the universe....
but that was awesome, a message that could quite possibly help a vast majority of people on this planet.
now back to my papa roach dvd :eyes:

hmmmm ... interesting.
I'm with hogs on this one, love, support, family & friends are what's important. But I guess if you need religon that's OK too.
Slightly off topic, well not really, watching a show last night about a guy that 4 cardiac arrests in one day, the Dr stuck some little tube into an artery in his arm and then fed that through to the heart to clear a blockage in one of the main arteries of the heart. They inserted a stent to keep the artery open and saved the guys life ... he was almost a goner several time.
So this guy is able to go home a few days later ... he's leaving the hospital and his last words are "but for the grace of God I wouldn't be here today" ... ... might just be me, but I'm pretty sure it was the Drs that saved him ...
Anyway ... I guess the message of the clip is a good one, I'll just pretend in my mind that the goose in the robes was representing family & friends.
And no ... you're not a pansy.

I'm no religious nut... but I think a Christian would say that God was working through the doctors that day, that's why he thanked God. :)
Cool clip... I've never been to church or anything, and I do kind of wonder what it would be like to have such enormous faith in something/someone for which there is no scientific proof even exists. Oh well... to Hell for me. :1peek:
What's the message?......when all is lost, reach out for god and he will save you......religious brainwashing garbage.
What would have been good is if a dude in a big deceptorcon outfit came out and blasted those baddies.......just as blausable as god comeing actually.

I guess that would be the arguement ... as stupid as it is.
The blocked artery in his heart wasn't gods work, but the live saving surgury performed by the Dr ... that's all god. Nice ...

Another way to look at it was this blocked artery was this mans own fault, eating unhealthy etc ...
The life saving surgery, yes performed by the doctor, but how many people have died under the doctors hands?? So it is fair enough for the faithful to say, that along side the doctors skill and efforts, they had alittle assistance from above??
No1 really said it was "ALL" God...

Come on ... you can't use that arguement when it suits you and ignore it every other time. If "god" has the power to assist a Dr save a life why doesn't he / she do it every time ??? What about the little kids that die, what about the times the Dr can't save the life ... was "god" busy ? Making a butterfly land on a special boys shoulder perhaps.
If it's man's own actions that lead to that state then it's man's own actions (i.e. the Dr) that saved his life. Religon is full of this shit, when bad stuff happens it has nothing to with god, it's due to the actions of man, but when good stuff happens it's god's will. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

My 2c worth....
Good clip and you are not a pansy.
As for Doctors... there are good ones, and... well, there are some not so good ones. One of the good ones said to me once, quoting a college of his, "I just push the scalpel, the rest is God..."(The late Cardio Surgeon, Doctor Victor Chan)
Be good to each other ppl.

Who would have thought such a smart man could say something so stupid ... just goes to show you what a lifetime of brain washing can achieve.
So when all of the nutbags in the world have killed in the name of god (and MILLIONS have been killed in the name of god) did the nutbag just swing the blade, pull the trigger etc. ... the rest was god ???
Once again, you can't just pull god out when it suits you ... apply a little logical thought to religon, ignoring the years of brainwashing you have no doubt endured, and you will see how ridiculous the whole thing is. Whatever religon you follow there are billions who are just as sure that you are wrong and they have got it right.
In the words of Ned Flanders (just for you keen) ... "I've done everything the bible says ... even all the stuff that contradicts the other stuff".
Of course there is no way I'm going to change anyones mind here, so I think I'll leave it there (hooray, they all yell !!!)

Best religion I found was LS1.com.au since being on here my life is like that video..I can't afford drugs because the mods keep me poor,I don't endulge in sex because my wife has gone to bed and I am still watching the blue screen.
Its all good each to their own.

I think this one topic we should all learn to agree to disagree...
I mean after all its been debated for centurys... a 20 page thread here wont solve nothing...
Nick i understand what you are saying... but those who have faith understand that when good happens it can be seen as the will of God, and when bad happens you'll step in and say where is God now... IMO the answer is similar to parenting a young one, when he falls and hurts his knee, bleeding etc, you'll step in and lend a hand ... othertimes when you falls you will let him be, toughen the young one up alittle... But ultimately you arent being left entirely alone...
LIke i said thats MY OPINION ... if you disagree with it, thats fine...
I just think a few people on here, despite disagreeing with religion and seeing no sense in it at all, should be careful not to insult those that consider it something important to them.
Fair enough?

The arguement on religion is cyclical, in that no one will ever change anyone else's mind and it will keep going around in circles.
Ill just say that I consider myself to be religious... to an extent anyway. I dont drink, smoke, gamble, etc, give money to charity and try to be a good person in general. I believe its because of my faith and the fact that I try to follow my religion as closely as possible that I am a good person.
Of course I have my vices, but there are some things in life I just cant say no to. Unfortunately with religion, for a lot of people (myself included), religion can be a double edged sword.

Well put mate.If the worst thing you do in life is be religious and that involves trying to be a good honest clean living person then so be it I can live with that and more people like you would make the world a nicer place.I am not in anyway religious but bring up my kids to respect people have manners and to have great family values which also will produce good people so in the end we all have different beliefs but the same goal in mind.

Well said Daz ... agree 100%.
I have no issue with anyone choosing to follow a religon, that's your choice and if it makes you a better person then I'm all for it. The religous extremists are clearly another story. What I don't like about religon is despite how you live your life, what morals you instil in your kids, how much you give to charity, whatever you care to list ... religon says that if you don't believe in god, worship god, accept god as ruler & maker etc. etc., go to church and read the bible ... you're going to hell.
No as I don't believe in hell this doesn't overly concern me, but religous people clearly put themselves above non-believers (otherwise you wouldn't believe that we are going to hell), regardless of how that person lives their life. I have sat in church and listened to this argument, many many times ... it's a crock.
I was done wasn't I ... sorry guys.

Thats not entirely true Nick. In my religion, there is no such generalised rule that if you dont follow our religion then you are going to hell. In fact, it specifically says, regardless of gender, race or religion, God looks favourably on those who are good people.
Personally, I dont care what religion someone is, as long as they are good people.
I was done wasn't I ... sorry guys.
No worries mate. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

The other thing to remember is that people who belive in God also belive in the Devil so While good things are attributed to the big fella, the bad would be attributted to the devil. Two sides to every story I guess?

I thought twice about entering into this discussion as I don't want to offend anyone who is religious, it's their right to belive in whatever they choose........but there are a few things that don't stack up from where I'm standing. Isn't the whole Adam & Eve thing a bit incestuous, & how did 2 supposedly caucasion people create all the different races we have? How can there be more than one God & why would He/They allow the suffering of innocent people & children all over the world?
I read a quote somewhere once that god was just an imaginary friend for grown-ups, the more I think about it the more sense it makes. If having something to believe in helps people through life, thats great, but it amazes me that billions of seemingly inteligent people worldwide blindly follow without question.
End of rant, Steve.
