aluminum vs rubber silicon hose maf pipe?VE SS

I read in a article that a aluminum pipe from the maf meter to the throttle body (on a after market cold air intakes for a VE SSV) can create to much heat and turn lose kw is this true?
If so how can I fix mine.......

Fly Big Rob from Chev's over to do a BRM (Big Rob Mod!). :) Cars that have had it done run with the aluminium pipe on the CAI almost at air temp instead of so hot you can hardly touch them! :eek:

So what does Big Rod do to the CAI to cool it down. I know chip master took the aluminum one off his SSV and put a silicon pipe on and in performed better:)
